One of the most collectable makers of antique jewellery is the London house of Giuliano, founded by the Neapolitan-born Carlo Giuliano, and succeeded by his sons Carlo and Arthur Alphonse. Though unmarked, this piece is likely to have once been a part of a tiara or hair ornament made by Giuliano due to its similarity to other signed pieces by the firm. There are five known pieces, in addition to the present jewel, by Giuliano which are comprised of a pair of diamond set wings with a larger stone or stones placed at centre. All five—a convertible hair ornament/brooch, a tiara, and three brooches—appeared in Wartski’s 1989 exhibition Artists’ Jewellery: Pre-Raphaelite to Arts and Crafts, and additionally two of these five are featured in the book of the same title by Charlotte Gere and Geoffrey Munn. This fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 9ct yellow gold.
The Victorian brooch is embellished with an impressive feature four claw set 8.50ct heart cut amethyst, articulating from the main setting.
The yellow gold lemniscate-shaped setting is ornamented with thirteen impressive seed pearls, bordered by millegrain decoration; this setting is modelled in the form of a ribbon bow with a central overlapping knot design.
The antique lapel brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp.
The reverse of the setting has been hallmarked with the 9ct gold fineness mark (9CT).
This impressive antique amethyst lapel brooch with pearls is supplied with an independent diamond and gemstone grading report card.

This magnificent, fine and impressive antique diamond brooch has been crafted in platinum.
This geometric Art Deco brooch is ornamented to the center with a feature bezel set 1.30Ct Old European cut diamond.
The central diamond is encompassed with horizontal pales embellished with thirty-eight pavé set Old European cut diamonds, accented to either end with seven further diamonds within rounded segments.
This symmetrical millegrain decorated frame bears four impressive Art Deco swept collar motifs emanating from the central design, each incorporating four swept rays, ornamented with a total of twenty-six pavé cut diamonds.
This large and intricate brooch features a paralleling oval border conjoining the aforementioned four cardinal swept motifs, in addition to a rectangular cut cornered border to the outer edge.
These impressive borders are ornamented with forty-four pavé set Old European cut diamonds, completing the design.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and catch.
