Neoclassical trumeau mirror of rectangular shape, the frame ornamented with laurel leaf relief banding issuing from two small neoclassical vases at both sides at the bottom of the frame. Painted in French grey. The upper part of the mirror displaying a painting on canvas depicting figures amongst ancient ruins, a so called 'capriccio'. The painter of this painting was inspired by capriccio scenes by Giovanni Paolo Panini (Piacenza 1691-Rom 1765), a painter and architect.
