Remo Bianco (1922-1988) Italian painter and sculptor. After participating in World War II, in 1944, he returned to Milan and resumed his studies at the Breta Academy. In this period is strongly similar to existential expressionism of the French painter Rouault. In his paintings large and dark lines begin to enclose thick layers of leaden and sulfurous colors. From the 1950s, Bianco’s portraits become increasingly speckled and the brush strokes more disorderly, while the colors are reduce in thickness. From the “Nuclear Movement” of 1950s, Bianco gained a love of Materials. In his works the features of the faces become increasingly imperceptible, giving way to paint blends. His next progression was more radical, a composition of pigments, glass crystals, paint, glue and pebbles. During his trip to US, he met Jason Pollock and learned the technique of dripping painting...
