Vintage American Hand Hooked Rug in Block Pattern
Located in Barrington, IL
Vintage American hand hooked area rug in a block pattern circa the early 20th century. The very unique and beautiful design in this vintage folk art hooked rug consists of a 5 x 7 block pattern each containing a different design. The design in this hand hooked rug is unique since the blocks around the perimeter of the rug are in a geometric pattern and the blocks in the center of the rug are in floral pattern. The design is set on a tan color background. The colors in each block are vibrant and make them stand out. Beautiful piece of Americana folk art to be used as a table top display or a wall art. The hooked rugs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are made with recycled old material, often used clothing that had been cut into narrow stripes. The foundation of hooked rugs is generally burlap material which the maker uses the stenciling technique to transfer the pattern into the surface. Once the design has been transferred to burlap, it would then be filled with the recycled material stripes and more recently yarn using the hooking technique. The use of special design and the brilliant colors makes this truly an artistic piece wonderful to be used as a wall art or displayed on a table. Antique Hooked Rugs are a combination of Folk Art Creativity and Simplicity. Dimensions: 29” x 42” Date of Manufacture: Early 20th Century Place of Origin: United States Material: Wool and cotton on a burlap foundation Condition: Wear consistent with age and use, some edge wear The Persian Knot, SKU: 2213 Vintage Block Pattern Rugs, Vintage Geometric Block Hooked Rugs, Geometric Hooked Rugs...

Antique Oversize Persian Khorassan in Allover Pattern in Purple, Blue, Ivory
Located in Barrington, IL
This extraordinary vintage Persian Khorassan rug is a striking example of refined elegance and artistic mastery, distinguished by its rare deep purple (eggplant) field— and a color seldom seen in Persian rug weaving and highly coveted by collectors and designers alike. Woven in the mid-1900s, this masterpiece pays visual homage to the legendary “Sickle-Leaf Vase Carpet”—also known as the William Clark Kerman Vase Carpet—which holds the world record for the most expensive rug ever sold at auction. The rug’s allover floral pattern is rendered in a symphony of soft, elegant tones: sandy yellow, French blue, pastel magenta, and navy, creating a harmonious contrast against the luxurious purple background. Each motif is delicately balanced, evoking the timeless grandeur of Persian garden themes and echoing the Safavid dynasty aesthetic that inspired the original vase carpet. Hand-knotted in the renowned Khorassan region of northeastern Iran, this piece showcases the exceptional craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and fine wool quality that define antique Persian rugs. Dimensions: 11’ x 19’ 6” Date of Manufacture: 1st Quarter of the 1900s Place of Origin: Persia Material: Wool pile on a cotton foundation with vegetable dyes Condition: Wear consistent with age and use The Persian Knot Gallery, SKU: 1696 Vintage Khorassan Rugs, Vintage Khorassan Carpets, Vintage Persian Khorassan, Antique Khorassan Carpets, Antique Persian Khorassan, Antique Persian Rugs, Large Persian Khorassan Carpets, Antique Rug, Antique Carpets, Vintage Carpets, Vintage Persian Carpets, Vintage Oriental Rugs, Antique Hand Woven Rugs, Vintage Medallion Rugs, Antique Handmade Rugs, Vintage Hand-Knotted Rugs, Antique Large Persian Rugs...

19th Century Chinese Peking Rug in Near Square Size with Fortune Symbols
Located in Barrington, IL
This exceptional Chinese Peking rug from the 4th quarter of the 1800s is a rare find—especially in its near-square shape, which enhances its versatility and presence. Woven in a rich wheat field color, the rug features symbolic and artistic elements that reflect traditional Chinese themes of fortune, prosperity, and longevity. At the center lies a beautifully rendered medallion with two birds perched on tree branches, a classic symbol of harmony and happiness. This focal point is surrounded by a series of auspicious Chinese symbols, creating a visual rhythm that is both meaningful and serene. The rug’s color palette includes elegant shades of baby blue, French blue, navy, brown, and antique ivory, giving the piece a soft, timeless sophistication. The lattice-style border and open field composition are reminiscent of 18th and early 19th century Ningxia carpets, known for their refined minimalism and spiritual elegance. Dimensions: 10’ 3” x 11' 10” Date of Manufacture: 4th Quarter of the 1800s Place of Origin: China Material: Wool pile on a cotton foundation Condition: Wear consistent with age and use The Persian Knot Gallery, SKU: 1898 Vintage Tibetan Rugs, Tibetan Antique Rug, Tibet Antiques, Antique Tibetan Carpet, Antique Tibetan Carpets and Rugs, Tibet Carpet, Ningxia Rug, Ningxia Carpet, Tibet Wool Rugs, Tibet Flower Rugs, Mongolia Rugs, Mongolia Carpets, Chinese Peking Rugs, Antique Peking Carpets, Antique Chinese Peking Carpets, Antique Peking Rug, Antique Peking Carpet, Chinese Rug Dragon...
