Ceramic Sculpture of a Woman Inner Balance
Located in Zofingen, AG
When I sculpted this sculpture of a woman, I wanted to convey the state of her openness. She enjoys the space around her and accepts any of its manifestations: sun, wind, rain, smells .. This woman is in a state of inner balance, she is happy. There is a small Swarovski crystal in the center of the chest. I left the pink clay texture on purpose. Clay is also alive and breathes through its pores. Sve...

Small abstract sculpture. Ancient candle holder.
Located in Zofingen, AG
This ceramic sculpture resembles an ancient object. It has a stone texture and rounded plasticity. Inside the sculpture is a place for fire. When the fire burns, the sculpture comes to life. You see a warm light inside and a cold shadow outside. It takes you into the cool of the night under the starry sky to a place where miracles happen. The sculpture passed high firing (1120 degrees). I left the natural texture of gray clay to keep the feeling of naturalness. Sve Gris...

Figure of a woman. Ceramic sculpture with meaning. Feminine energy. White Way.
Located in Zofingen, AG
Ceramic sculpture "White Way". With this work I am talking about the state of a woman when she is connected to the natural source of her power, when she is light at heart. In this case, a woman's actions are filled with favorable energy. I have depicted this energy in the form of a white band that she weaves with her hands.

The work is made of white white clay with fine chamotte. The figure has a matte rough surface of cream color with white engobe flecks. The white band is tied with polyester thread. It is attached to the figure with a thin wire. - Sve Gri...

"Large Vessel" - abstract sculpture - Barbara Hepworth
By Susan Hable
Located in Atlanta, GA
Susan Hable is inspired by the work of David Hockney, Milton Avery, Henri Matisse, Alex Katz, Howard Hodgkins, Hilma af Klint, Georgia O'Keeffe, Barbara Hepworth and Constantin Brâncuși. With humor and a bit of mischief, Susan Hable’s “Don't Pick The Flowers!” is a body of work that is at once a refuge and a playground. Inspired by her sumptuous garden just outside of her Athens studio, Susan flows from one medium to the next from painting to collage to sculpture. Susan sees her garden as a place for adventure and daydreaming, challenging her perceptions of what her Art can be. Even a weedy ground cover has caught Susan’s eye, an overlooked invasive is seen in a new light becoming a dreamlike fairytale path. Her work asks us to engage in life, go for a walk and play. Susan Hable Smith is the artist and designer behind the boldly colored and hand drawn patterns of Hable Construction...

Visage d’homme (Man’s Head), 1968-1969 A.R. 570
By Pablo Picasso
Located in Palo Alto, CA
Pablo Picasso Visage d’homme (Man’s Head), 1968-1969 A.R. 570 showcases the artist’s unrivaled ability to illustrate human nuance. Each aspect of the man’s face, from his furrowed brow to his side gaze is carefully illustrated. The crowding of horizontal lines on his brow and vertical lines on his nose bring a sense of tension to his face, which compounds the furrowed brow. There are only two colors on the plaque, black and red, but the semi circle of hair atop the mans head...

"Beach-Combed Mochaware, " Mixed Media Sculpture
By Michael Thompson
Located in Chicago, IL
Based in Chicago, IL, contemporary artist Michael Thompson creates unique kites, collages and mixed media works assembled from material fragments of past and present collected in his travels. In his ongoing series of memory jugs, Thompson adorns stoneware vessels with a kaleidoscope of ceramic shards, found objects, and pocket-sized trinkets he collected over the course of his life. Also known as forget-me-not jugs or spirit jars, memory jugs are African American folk art objects that honor a loved one who has recently passed. Small tokens and mementos of the deceased are gathered and affixed to the exterior of a jug or vase, an abundance of memories that celebrates a life lived to the fullest. Michael Thompson applies this tradition to his own practice, creating tactile assemblages of this and that. Formed in the manner of collage, each jug honors the lost memories of generations past and his own memories of personally discovering each item. With varied sources for materials including Kyoto, Turkey, and Mexico, a great number of the found shards are 18th and 19th century ceramics...
