Vintage 1950’s Japanese Monarch Butterfly Garden Outdoor Lantern
Located in New Orleans, LA
A vintage Japanese cast iron butterfly lantern will add some whimsy to your garden. Japan is known for creating these charming hanging cast iron lanterns for pathways and gardens. Made during the reign of Emperor Hirohito also known as the Showa era (1926-1989). Butterflies embodies change and growth. They are also seen as souls of deceased loved ones. They're also associated with good fortune and happiness. It is a fine, hand cast and unusual iron butterfly lantern in the form of a Japanese Monarch Butterfly. Hang in your favorite indoor or special outdoor space. It sits on its own as well. As a gorgeous night light it will burst brilliant night light in all directions from all sides and many openings. This is an old vintage, heavy hand-cast, attractive eye catching lantern with a handsome dark patina. There is a piece on the bottom that unscrews so you can add a small candle or LED. There is a ring at the top so you can also hang. It will be a fun conversation piece to enjoy for years to come. The unusual mark on the bottom front of this iron butterfly resembles the Japanese kanji character for "work" or "craft" (\(\mathbf{I}\)), and is sometimes found on items like vintage and antique Japanese cast...

Antique Early 19th C. American Maple And Pine Corner Cabinet
Located in New Orleans, LA
Antique early 19th century American pine and maple Corner Cupboard, c 1810. Made of pine and maple, featuring triangular form with stunning original glazed wavy glass doors, three drawers and wood doors below This cupboard has pale pink old milk painted interior shelves. The glass features waves and bubbles consistent with age and was completely hand made with wooden pegs. Ever wonder how large, tall pieces of furniture were moved in and out of the small doorways in 18th-19th century homes? Beginning about 1740, corner cupboards were very popular storage pieces. Some were built into the room by carpenters so they never had to be moved. Instead of a rectangular piece of furniture, the corner piece was triangular in the back so it fit into a corner with no wasted space. Through the years, many of these built-ins have been removed and given new backs. Most old corner cupboards were made by a cabinetmaker to be moved from house to house. The top section usually had glass cabinet doors covering several shelves. The silver or dishes inside were arranged to be admired. The bottom section had two wooden cabinet doors...

A Fine Pair Of Antique English Chamberlains Worcester Round Dishes Circa 1810
By Chamberlains Worcester
Located in New Orleans, LA
A fine pair of antique Chamberlains Worcester cabinet plates having a pleasing Asian design of figures in a garden and gorgeous Imari colors, circa 1810. In 1783, Robert Chamberlain (c.1736–98), head of the decorating department for Dr John Wall at Warmstry House, left the company to start his own porcelain decorating business in King Street, Worcester. At first he bought blank undecorated porcelain from other factories such as Caughley in Shropshire, but by the late 1780’s he was making his own wares at a new factory site in Severn Street, Diglis. The Chamberlain factory quickly established an enviable reputation for the production of finely painted porcelain. Admiral Lord Nelson and his mistress Lady Hamilton visited Chamberlain’s factory in August 1802 and ordered an extravagant breakfast, dinner and dessert...
