Hand-Carved Baltic Amber Teacup // 153 Grams
Located in New York, NY
This exquisitely detailed cup is entirely and intricately hand-carved out of one solid 153-gram piece of gorgeously-colored Baltic amber from Ukraine. This carved 34 to 55 million year specimen varies in clarity from a more opaque and swirled butterscotch color to incredible, glass-clear translucency in the handle. The artist has realized incredible detail, with flowers, dragonflies, and fish with individually-carved scales in relief against the sides of the cup, these carvings further enhanced by the skin of the amber having been carefully left on and carved around in places for pops of deeper amber color over the carved areas...

Frederic Weinberg Bucking Zebra Table Lamp Set, Midcentury, Signed
By Frederic Weinberg
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Extremely rare bucking zebra plaster table lamps by iconic midcentury Philadelphia based designer - Frederic Weinberg. With manufacturers label. These are the real deal.
Philadelphia based artist and Industrial designer Frederic Weinberg produced and sold a wide variety of striking decorative and functional pieces items under a company bearing his name.
More then 50 years after ceasing production, Weinberg’s designs remain as fresh and vital as ever. His extremely stylized figures and masterfully playful use of line and negative space to convey form are an absolute delight.
Very little else is known about the man and his company. The majority of pieces attributed to him lack his signature / label. His table lamps and horse figures are thought to be earlier productions, circa 1946-1950, and marked examples are extremely rare and highly coveted.
