A nice group of three triangle shaped and faceted Lucite sculptures done and signed Bijan Bahar in the 1970s. The artist confirmed the timeframe himself. They are each signed and have been buffed out a bit by the artist himself. They still retain some surface scratches and imperfections with some edge roughness as the artist wanted them to retain some semblance of their true age. The tallest dimensions are given below, but the middles one is approx 15" tall, 6.5" W and 1.75" deep. The smallest is 13" tall, 6" wide and 1.5" deep. A wonderful Italian Gilt Aluminum and Marble dining table suitable in a Kitchen or small dining room. Very much reminiscent of the Italian masters like Gio Ponti or Ico Parisi. Flowing delicate legs and a simple but elegant apron. The round marble is fitted into a square base. Clever design. The piece is mid century and it's likely from anywhere from the late 1940's to early 1960's. The base is marked Italy on top of one of the legs under the marble, pictured. There is quite a bit of paint loss to the gilt finish. We've left it alone instead of having it repainted as it shows the table's age and character. The marble top is beautifully veined and has nice patina as well. There are numerous chips to the bottom of the edge and a few minor ones to the top edge. We've pictured a few of them. From a 2012 article the following provides some insight into the artist: Gloucester TWP, Camden County College’s Marlin Gallery will present works by the late Cherry Hill sculptor Frederick Schumm in the show “Retrospective” starting March 21. Schumm was a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., who served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Driven by an interest in whittling and sculpture, he used G.I. Bill funds to develop his talents with study at the Colorado Institute of Fine Arts. In the early 1960s, he developed an original method for casting small bronzes at the same time that he was designing and helping to construct a sculptural playground for the Colorado Springs Parks Department.
