The 'a lustro' technique has Middle Eastern origins and consists in giving to majolica a special finish thanks to the use of a special mash applied by the artist after the second cooking in the oven, donated this precious glaze to the object.
The vases are signed "S.L.Robbia - Gualdo Tadino- Made in Italy " Large handles.
"Della Robbia" manufacturing facility was founded in 1925 in Gualdo Tadino near Perugia.
They started the produce ceramics in accordance with antique models and then developed also their own line of ceramics that have become typical of the area.
