Annamese Blue and White Ceramic Small Box, Chu Dau kiln, Vietnam, circa 1500. A globular form with a narrow slightly countersunk base. The cover crisply decorated in a line drawing of cobalt depicting a central floral medallion from which radiate six foliate petals, the sides with six peaked cartouche containing alternating patterns of waves and leafy tendrils. The design perfectly aligning over the well fitting lid to the body.
Condition: One tiny popped blister on the lid, minor rim frits, otherwise excellent condition.
Measuring: 1.375 in. high x 1.9375 in. in diameter. (35 x 50 mm)

Antique Thai Frog Shaped Kendi, Sawankhalok Kilns, Si Satchanalai.
A squat globular stoneware body of good size having a narrow upright neck and everted mouth. The short narrow spout has the shape of an imagined frog snout. The modeled details include bulging eyes, ridge lines demarcating the spine, outline of the trunk and the legs with small webbed feet. The pot is glazed overall in a rich brown glaze lightly pitted from burial which stops short of the well trimmed foot rim revealing the beige colored biscuit.
Condition: Excellent with no knowledge or evidence of any restorations.
Age: 13th/14th century.
Size: 5.5 inches high x 5.5 inches in diameter (14 x 14cm).
Weight: 1 lb. 10.5 oz. (753g.)

Antique ceramic covered box from the Sawankhalok kilns, Thailand of squat globular persimmon form with pinched sepal ridge and curled stem finial top decorated in a caramel brown and translucent white glaze on the stoneware biscuit in a saw tooth design at the shoulder and foliate vine scroll pattern on the body, two incised bands near the foot with a trimmed countersunk unglazed base with traces of the pontil firing scar. The interior of the base with a thin translucent glaze the interior of the lid unglazed. Tight fit of top to bottom. Evidence of a repair to a large chip to the interior rim of the base and two further small chips unrestored, the top clean without any restorations, overall fine condition. Measuring 2-3/4 in. high x 4” in diameter. (7cm x 10.2cm)

This is an exceptionally large English mid-19th century Victorian Ironstone Platter decorated in a beautifully detailed Japanese Imari pattern. Created for slaked lime, a component for the social practice of chewing “Betelnut”, globular form resembling an areca nut with round aperture at the shoulder and decorative overhead handle stylized in such a way that it could be interpreted as a dragon with tablets with four legs and feet adhering to the shoulder or a stem branch with tendrils terminating in raised short spikes and molded oblong shapes resembling bunches of areca nut, all covered in a crackled transparent glaze with copper green on the handle, sturdy foot rim decorated by a band of iron oxide brown where the body meets the foot, the base is unglazed. Lime residue, otherwise excellent condition. 6-1/4 in. high x 4 in. in diameter. (159 x 101mm)
