15C-17C Lankan Divided Kingdom/Kandyn Period Standing Bronze/Other Alloy Buddha
Located in Ukiah, CA
15thC Sri Lankan Divided Kingdom early Kandy’sPeriod Standing Bronze Buddha. Quite rare to find a figure from this period in this large size and high quality--the vast majority are the later Kandy style, which look similar but have rounder faces and distinctive ripples covering the robes. If you search the internet you will find very few of this type outside of museums or high end auction houses that are not just a few inches tall and quite provincial in casting. The size is an impressive 12 1/2 inches tall for the figure only and a total height on attached stand of 13.5 inches. It is extremely heavy for its size. Many Lankan Buddhas...

The back is flat with a small hole.
