About Serra:
Serra ceramics factory was a well known ceramics catalan manufacturer with three generations of ceramists. The workshop was founded by Antoni Serra one of the first ceramists in Spain who found an artistic ceramics workshop/studio. Josep Serra with his brothers Antoni and Enric followed his father in the art of ceramics at Can Famades, the new Studio at Cornellà, Barcelona. Josep Serra became the Manager at Cerámicas Serra at the 1930s.

This vase 242-22 was produced in the 1960s in West Germany by the Scheurich. This vase is made of ceramics using the fat lava technique. Partially covered characteristic network of cracks resulting from accidental defects, aging of the glaze or an effect intended to decorate the products. Shiny purple red and expressive emerald color show the object a rare character. Scheurich has always used white clay, the color of which is visible on the bottom edge of the vase. The vase is signed W.GERMANY and has model number and the height of the vase. It also has an original label with the name of the company.
The Scheurich company was founded in 1928 by Scheuri cousins, but it was not until 1948 that it began producing home ceramics. It mainly produced vases and flower pots, but also ashtrays, candlesticks, cups, clock buffets...
