'Sunflower' is an original opal serpentine sculpture signed by the Zimbabwean artist Tendai Mushawepwere. In the sculpture, Tendai combines the natural forms of the tri-petal flower with highly abstract and energetic line – the flower head sits atop a zig-zagging bolt of electricity. This unusual juxtaposition emphasizes the life of the plant and the power of nature itself. The approach, however, is strikingly surreal and recalls images of artists such as Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró.
