Proteus, also known as Neptune VIII, is the second-largest Neptunian moon, and Neptune's largest inner satellite.
The extreme conditions of cold and darkness on its surface drove all its fauna and flora to grow deep below the surface within large pockets and tunnels enjoying the warmth of the moon thermo-geological activity.
The Gossamer Crown Bloodroot flourish within the nitrogen and carbon dioxide rich tunnels allowing it to grow to massive size surrounded by lush green high grass.
