Sophie Sturdevant

My name is Sophie, a Denver-born and Chicago-based artist. I tell visual stories by playing with lines and excessive layers in a style I call SuperStacked. Though I have a traditional background, I am currently working both in space and digitally. As a woman artist (and especially in this digital movement, amplified by NFTs), I feel frequently out of place — in the traditional art world, the woman is often the subject of art but rarely is seen as a credible and honest creator. I lean into the juxtaposition of my role often in my work, playing with the idea that womanhood is ""supposed"" to be lovely, tender, and one-dimensional, but is — in reality — deeply complex, abstract, and often emotionally overwhelming. Most notably, I ve collaborated with brands For Love and Lemons, The Hundreds NFT project (Adam Bomb Squad), and have been featured in Forbes, Vogue Business, and HYPEBEAST.
