Comfortably Chic

Studio L was commissioned to complete the decor on a 3,400 sq ft on a London home for a dynamic, entrepreneurial couple, toddler, and visiting family and friends. The brief was to create a sophisticated, comfortable and fun family home that was both a haven and entertainment-friendly and reflected the clients’ energetic and unique personalities.

A large abstract painting from US artist, Kinda Khalidy (2017 Facebook’s Artist in Residence) became the project s genesis with its kaleidoscopic colours that informed the entire house s palette. The client’s love of bold colours enlivened the spaces and helped Studio L create their one-of-a-kind décor.

The Studio and client coined the project "Comfortably Chic", which encapsulated the concept of its modern, stylish and family-friendly playful vibe. Studio L achieved the look by layering texture, pattern and colour, displaying one-off art pieces and the client’s favourite personal photo’s in various creative ways throughout the home. The furniture was a mix of vintage, new and custom-designed by Studio L to be functional and beautiful and showcase the owners eclectic tastes.
