Marlborough Street Residence

This Back Bay brownstone was refreshed for a graduate student, blending classic architectural details with clean lines, contemporary finishes, and expressive artwork. While the home skewed too traditional, Elms reimagined it as a lively space equally suited for studying, entertaining, and everyday living. Original ceiling trim was retained, while wide oak floors, grass-cloth wallcoverings, and a modern gray marble mantel created a lighter, younger backdrop. Lounge-worthy seating, thoughtful built-ins, and layered lighting support relaxed living, while abstract art and graphic moments—especially in the entry hall—add color, movement, and personality throughout.
