An armchair that recalls a certain Italian historical elegance, merging sophisticated elements with a simple outline. The attention to details that distinguishes Saba can be found in the quilted cushions and in the thin painted legs that support the armchair. Also available with a grosgrain cord trim. Fully removable covers.
Born in 1953 he left formal education and began, almost by chance, his experience in the field of the padded furniture. Fascinated by the world that surrounded him, he eagerly devoted himself to researching building forms and techniques which have borne fruit for the companies in which he worked. In 1991 he opened his studio as an independent designer and in 1993 he came across Saba Italia. New challenges and new incentives lead to the creation of the “nomad sofa”: Taos, Ananta, Limes, Nesting, Pixel. Creations that were born from reflection of new desires that encourage us to live in a less formal way, equipped with systems that enable change with simple gestures, by playing with shapes.
Structure: In wood padded with variable-density polyurethane foam (21IM – 30P – 40IP – 75IP), covered with fine velvet coupled with resin 200gr/sqm.

This original comfortable chair is designed by the Dutch interior and furniture designer Bas van Pelt (1900-1945) and was manufactured by E.M.S. Overschie. The construction of this particular chair is made of chromed tubular metal frames, giving it a sleek appearance. But then the seat and armrests have a warm appearance due to the coarsely woven fabric ‘sisal’. The design shows traits of the aesthetics by Bauhaus. The seat has discoloration and the metal shows signs of use, which contribute to the authentic look.
Bastiaan Johannes van Pelt (1900-1945) was a Dutch furniture designer and interior designer. As son of a book printer, he spend his time after school working in several printing companies in Holland. At that time he already engaged in topics like designing furniture, interiors, carpets and fabrics, graphic work and pottery.
