Originating from Kashmir, these shawls—sometimes called “Paisley” or “Piano” shawls—became highly fashionable in Europe during the Victorian era, especially after Queen Victoria popularized them. The design and craftsmanship of these Indian shawls later inspired the iconic production of similar pieces in Paisley, Scotland, throughout the 19th century.
This richly woven textile can be elegantly draped over a table or bed or displayed as a piece of wall art, making it an ideal statement in classic, bohemian, or globally inspired interiors. A rare and collectible piece of textile history that combines cultural heritage with timeless style.

This medium scale print celebrates the migratory Monarch butterfly whose larval food-plants, the milkweeds, have been depleted to critically low levels by herbicides.
