EMANUELE LUZZATI SUN PANEL
Located in Los Angeles, CA
There were two of these panels on the ship but only one will be available here for sale. The metal surfacing is a combination of gold and silver. The gold patina was painted on by Luzzati, himself. There are two large flat pieces with metal mounts to support the third, sun element. This is a particularly rare and stunning panel that may have at one time been illuminated. There are minute holes in the circumfrence of the sun's support ring that could feasibly emanate rays of light behind the sun.

Pair Of Gustavo Pulitzer Mirrors For Transatlantic Augustus, 1950
By Gustavo Pulitzer Finali
Located in Rome, IT
a rare pair of mirrors designed by Arch Gustavo Pulitzer Finali
for the original forntirure of the famous transatlantic "AUGUTUS" IN 1950
crystal by Luigi Fontana
wood crystal
Measures: h.96 cm 53 x 5
The history of the Augustus began sixty years ago, the 8th of March 1949, when the so called Cantieri Riuniti dell’Adriatico (United Boatyards of the Adriatic Sea) (CRDA), received the order to build five units for their ports and the Finmare Group
The two most prestigious ships assigned to the Giulian group would have been the two twin transatlantic dedicated to the Italy-South America line, christen Giulio Cesare and Augustus.
The two huge ships were the first Italian post-war transatlantic and they represented the renewal of the Italian Mercantile Marine after the destruction caused by the Second World War when over 90% of the Italian fleet went lost. They were designed by the famous carenista Nicolò Costanzi and their line would have been inspirational for the Ansaldo when they built their own transatlantic dedicated to the North American line, Andrea Doria and Cristoforo Colombo.
The interior of this ship are for sure examples of the outstanding work of great Italian architects as Boico, Cervi, Frandoli and Nordio, but above all of the genius of Pulitzer Finali. The various areas of this transatlantic were embellished by works of artists of the caliber of Marcello Mascherini...

Incres Line's MV VICTORIA of 1959 was the ultimate statement in what was then modern day cruising. Of course, Emanuele Luzzati...
