"Turkey Trot, " Will Moses, Rural Folk Art, Autumn Landscape with Pumpkins, Fall
Located in New York, NY
Will Moses (American, b. 1956) Turkey Trot, 2012 Oil on board 8 5/8 x 7 5/8 inches Signed lower right Soft, shadowy foothills dotted with traditional white farmhouses; weathered red barns tilted haphazardly on broad patchwork sweeps of green and hay-gold fields; small clusters of black and white cows grazing placidly in the distance…it's all part of Moses Country. And, the 200 year-old farmhouse, where Will Moses has his studio, is as solidly traditional as the surrounding landscape…the white house where the legendary Grandma Moses began her career. Born and raised here, in Eagle Bridge, New York, Will Moses creates paintings that reflect the quiet beauty of this tiny community nestled close to the Vermont border. Will has created a vivid, delightful miniature world, peopled with villagers who have stepped out of the past to charm us with their simple, everyday pastimes. As a fourth generation member of the renowned Moses family, painting is a natural tradition for Will, who began painting when he was four years old. Encouraged by his grandfather, a well-known folk painter in his own right, young Will was allowed to experiment freely with paints. Forrest K. Moses was totally committed to self-expression and passed this freedom of spirit along to his young grandson. Stimulated by his grandfather's confident approach, Will developed his own unique style of Americana. Today, Will continues to carry on the family tradition. Although his style is reminiscent of that of his celebrated great-grandmother, it is more complex and sophisticated. Basically self-taught, Will has honed his technique to capture all the most minute details in sharp-edged focus. It is a technique that has gained him considerable attention in art circles. Will Moses has had several well acclaimed exhibitions of his work in the United States, Canada and Japan. The Japanese are enthusiastic collectors of Will's art and Will has personally toured Japan with an exhibition of his work there. In North America, Will continues to make appearances at art galleries and folk art shows, meeting friends, collectors and admirers of his work. Recent public exhibitions of Will's work have taken place at the Cahoon Museum of American Art, The Everson Museum, The Bennington Museum, the North Shore Art Gallery and the President Ford and Reagan Libraries. Will continues his work illustrating and writing children's books. Philomel Books/Penguin Books for Young Readers, have now published ten books to date: Silent Night, The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, Rip Van...

Festina F12 Steel Mens Watch - Owned Worn By Harry Bellafonte with COA
Located in Suwanee, GA
NAMED ONE OF WATCHPRO MAGAZINE’S “HOT 100” - THE TOP 100 INFLUENCERS OF THE U.S. WATCH INDUSTRY. HOW CAN WE SERVE YOU? We’re new to offering our carefully curated collection on 1stDibs, but we have sold over 10,000 fine watches and exceptionally served thousands of customers with a 5.0 star rating. Festina F12 Steel Mens Watch - OWNED & WORN BY HARRY BELLAFONTE with COA Certificate of Authenticity - Full Provenance with 2 COAs - 1 Year Warranty Today’s offering showcases a special treasure from our COT Celebrity Collection: a stainless steel Festina F12 reference 8995 wristwatch personally owned and worn by the legendary Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner Harry Belafonte. Far more than an entertainer, Belafonte was an artist who reshaped culture. Harry Belafonte was one of the most celebrated entertainers of the 20th century—a trailblazing singer, actor, and activist whose artistry reshaped popular culture. Dubbed the “King of Calypso,” he introduced Caribbean music to mainstream audiences around the globe. His landmark 1956 album Calypso became the first LP in history to sell more than one million copies, fueled by the enduring popularity of Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)—a song that remains especially recognizable to this day. His warm, charismatic stage presence and magnetic voice made him a household name, while his work in film, including Carmen Jones and Island in the Sun, broke new ground for Black actors in Hollywood. Belafonte’s career was recognized with some of the industry’s highest honors. He won a Grammy Award for Calypso, later receiving a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His performances earned him Emmy and Tony Awards as well, making him one of the rare “EGOT” recipients. In 1989, he was awarded the Kennedy Center Honors, and in 2014 he received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his profound influence on both culture and conscience. Equally celebrated for his activism, Belafonte was a close confidant of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a tireless champion for civil rights, social justice, and humanitarian causes. He helped organize the 1963 March on Washington, supported the anti-apartheid movement, and worked with UNICEF as a goodwill ambassador. His fearless voice against injustice and his lifelong commitment to equality cemented his legacy not only as an entertainer but as a moral leader of his era. To own a watch worn by Belafonte is to hold a personal connection to a man whose artistry brought joy to millions and whose convictions helped change the world.   This watch: The Festina F12 offers a balance of practicality and style. Its curved rectangular stainless steel case wears comfortably on the wrist. Its silver dial is crisp and functional, with luminous dauphine hands, applied Arabic numerals, baton hour markers, and dual registers for day and date, giving it both clarity and sophistication. With its signed crown, durable 5 ATM water resistance, and dependable quartz movement, the F12 is built for reliable everyday wear, yet its streamlined tank-style design ensures it pairs effortlessly with both casual and formal attire. It’s a versatile timepiece that blends contemporary durability with timeless appeal. It remains in overall good condition. We have not cleaned or polished the watch or done anything to the outside of it - we left it just as we acquired it, which includes signs of wear. On the inside, one of our Master Watchmakers has installed a new battery making it ready for enjoyment. Our's Renowned Celebrity Collection: This watch is part of our Celebrity Collection of watches that has been featured in GQ, Revolution Watch, Europa Star, JCK, Hampton's Magazine, Gotham Magazine, Vegas Magazine, Silicon Valley magazine and many others. eBay just recently partnered with us for an exclusive, special sale for seven of the watches. Vintage Monumental James Mont Brass Table Lamp Etching and Eastern Influences
By James Mont

The beautiful brass patina makes this James Mont mid-century lamp a standout. If a lamp can be exciting, this is it. It is encircled with etching and Asian motif symbols around the outside. It is a beautiful example of Mont's Hollywood Regency style lighting and will bring a sense of design and high style to any room. The lamps is on a three way switch. This would be magnificent in a foyer or entryway. It just imparts a sense of drama. James Mont's artistry helped popularize the Asian fusion effect in design. His design style attracted the attention and loyal following of many Hollywood A-listers in the 1950s and '60s including John Barrymore, Lana Turner, Bob Hope and songwriter Irving Berlin...

S.S. United States Aluminum Grand Stairway Hand Rails
Located in Hudson, NY
These aluminum handrails which once graced the center of the grand staircase of the S S United States exemplifies the sophisticated sleek aesthetic of Mid-Century American design. When launched in July 1952 the S S United States was the culmination of years planning and design. On the heels of WW II, the U S Government saw the need to have modern ships that could be easily converted to troop transport ships in wartime constructed with safety and speed as the top priorities. They worked in partnership with the United States Line and underwrote a great deal of the liner's finished cost of 72 million as well as the future operating and maintenance cost of this proud symbol of her country and her age. The designer of the ship William Francis Gibbs had to incorporate the requirements of the government into his designs for the great liner. From her knife-edge bow across the superstructure and a pair of massive blue white and red raked funnels to the perfect arc of her stern, she sat proudly in the water and conveyed a sense of movement and speed even when still. His design incorporated a "secret" hull, numerous bulkheads which limited the grand open spaces of most liners of the time, no flammable material used in construction and fitting out other than the Steinway grand piano...

Ladies Swiss Sterling Silver Watch With Bracelet - OWNED WORN BY DORIS DAY
Located in Suwanee, GA
NAMED ONE OF WATCHPRO MAGAZINE’S “HOT 100” - THE TOP 100 INFLUENCERS OF THE U.S. WATCH INDUSTRY. HOW CAN WE SERVE YOU? We’re new to offering our carefully curated collection on 1stDibs, but we have sold over 10,000 fine watches and exceptionally served thousands of customers with a 5.0 star rating. Ladies Swiss Sterling Silver Watch With Link Bracelet - OWNED & WORN BY DORIS DAY Certificate of Authenticity - Full Provenance with 2 COAs - 1 Year Warranty Today's offering showcases this stylish ladies Swiss made chrona sterling silver watch with original sterling silver link bracelet owned and worn by the late beloved entertainer Doris Day. Doris Day was the quintessential American sweetheart—an icon of silver screen charm, vocal brilliance, and effortless elegance. Rising to fame in the post-war era, she captivated audiences with her radiant smile, warm presence, and unmistakable voice, becoming one of the most beloved entertainers of the 20th century. Her film career included a string of box-office hits like Calamity Jane, Pillow Talk, and The Man Who Knew Too Much, showcasing her versatility as both a comedic talent and a dramatic actress. She was nominated for an Academy Award and received the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, not to mention her numerous other accolades across both film and music. As a singer, Doris Day's legacy is equally enduring. Her velvety vocals made hits like "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)" and "Sentimental Journey" timeless classics. She recorded more than 650 songs across her career, making her one of the most prolific and best-selling female vocalists of her generation. But beyond the screen and stage, Doris Day was known for her impeccable taste and style - always polished, always graceful. Her love for clean lines, pastel hues, and feminine silhouettes made her a quiet but powerful fashion influence in the golden age of Hollywood. She carried herself with a natural glamour that was never forced, always authentic. A devoted animal rights advocate, she dedicated the latter part of her life to causes she cared deeply about, founding the Doris Day Animal Foundation and lobbying tirelessly for animal welfare. Her compassion off-camera was as genuine and impactful as her on-screen presence. Owning a piece from Doris Day's personal collection - especially a timepiece that she wore - offers more than vintage sophistication. It carries the weight of her extraordinary legacy: a woman of talent, tenderness, and timeless style. It is in its original condition which present as excellent. The bezel is thick and rounded like a polished pebble, almost more like a bangle than a traditional case. It feels more like wearable art, which aligns well with fashion-forward 1970s and 1980s trends. Its primary function may be aesthetic as much as practical. It doubles as a silver bracelet, likely worn to complement outfits and provide a subtle signature piece - especially for someone like Doris Day, whose style was approachable, classic, and quietly luxurious. The dial is modernist - no hour markers, no date window, no second hand; just a brushed silver face with two slender hands. This minimalism lends the watch a timeless elegance. It was clearly worn and enjoyed by Doris Day through it remains in good condition. We have not cleaned or polished the watch or done anything to the outside of it - we left it just as we acquired it. The only work we have done on the watch is one of our Master Watchmakers, who as an authorized Rolex Watchmaker, has installed a new battery making it ready for immediate enjoyment. Our Renowned Celebrity Collection: This watch is part of our Celebrity Collection of watches that has been featured in GQ, Revolution Watch, Europa Star, JCK, Hampton's Magazine, Gotham Magazine, Vegas Magazine, Silicon Valley magazine and many others. eBay just recently partnered with us for an exclusive, special sale for seven of the watches. Vintage Orig Metallic Painting by O. E. L. Graves Extremely Rare Collectible
By O.E.L. Graves
Located in Palm Springs, CA
We are so proud to offer this original work of art by legendary Palm Springs artist O. E. L. Graves. We discovered his work when we first purchased a second home here in 1997. His work was very difficult to come across, but stories about Mr. Graves were legendary, and the first art we saw of his were his extraordinary and very collectible cover art for vintage mid century Palm Springs villager magazines which we found at some thrift stores! We have since collected 8 original paintings. This is the Rolls-Royce of the collection. His artwork is now collected by a new generation of the Palm Springs younger rich and famous entertainment industry that have brought new life to the town with Coachella Music Festival and the endearing architecture Palm Springs is famous for! We purchased an amazing coffee table book by French photographer Robert Doisneau called “Palm Springs 1960” Mr Graves himself and his artwork is featured in wonderful 1960s vintage photographs. This spurred on more collectors looking for his paintings. This large painting was definitely owned by a Palm Springs/Beverly Hills client. His work was even sought out by Rockefeller that wanted to buy a painting of Mr. Graves that he refused to sell! The paintings were very expensive. Just the original painting’s framing alone shows how chic and special it was. The subject is a bird in its cage with a clock in the corner, In shades of silver, green, black and gold. There is a name on the painting, along side Mr. Graves signature we believe to be the title of the painting, “Orsi” It is such an extraordinary painting! Please check out the pictures to see the amazing color and details of this work. O. E. L. Graves (1897 - 1971) Graves was an American artist and painter/sculptor based in Palm Springs, California during Hollywood's golden years. His client list included many of the rich and famous of his era, from movie stars (Clark Gable, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Janet Gaynor) to business magnates (Raymond Loewys, George R. Hearst Sr.) to shady criminal kingpins. His own personal life was just as full of high intrigue and secrecy as the famous clients he cultivated. As a result, his need to maintain a relatively low profile in his private life has relegated him to near obscurity in death as an artist. Graves experimented constantly with new media and techniques for expressing his art. His works include delicate watercolors, fine detailed portraits, impressionistic oils, sculptures in metal, and some techniques of his own invention. Graves claims to have invented "sculpted oil painting", where multiple layers of thick oil paint are placed on masonite and then cut away to create the image. His sculpted oil paintings were displayed in some of the trendiest galleries and art museums, including the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, which purchased some of his sculpted paintings after they had been shown there. Winthrop Rockefeller...

Tom Kelley Corky Carroll at Zuma beach c. 1960's C print 30 x 38 inches Edition of 25 Photographs are printed on Archival Hahnemühle paper (luster) estate signed and numbered in the border Caption: Woman Lying in Bed Portrait Tom Kelley’s interesting career spans more than four decades: first started as an apprentice in a New York photo studio that catered to the city's upper 400 (i.e. photographing the Vanderbilts, the Astors, the Harrimans, the Morgans, etc.). One of his biggest spot news assignments was covering the Lindbergh kidnapping case. Coming to California, Kelley was retained to photograph the stars created by David 0. Selznick and Samuel Goldwyn including Ingrid Bergman. A few of his other most famous subjects have been Gary Cooper, Greta Garbo, James Cagney, Clark Gable, Winston Churchill, Bob Hope, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Jack Benny, John F. Kennedy, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Franklin D. Roosevelt and, of course, Marilyn Monroe, with and without clothes. His easiest photo subject? Clark Gable. His toughest? Joan Bennett. Following a long and profitable career helping to publicize motion picture personalities, he drifted the commercial advertising/photography field where he has remained as one of the leading exponents in the business. Of course, his most famous image was of Marilyn Monroe nude...

Gregory Hawthorne Original Fantasy Painting from Steve Chase Designed Residence
By Steve Chase, Gregory Hawthorne
Located in Palm Springs, CA
This beautiful painting by artist Gregory Hawthorn was from a art collectors Palm Springs estate. Mr. Hawthorne’s work was chosen for many interiors designed by the late, great Steve Chase. This painting is a fantasy oil on board with a 3-D effect of a woman’s face. The detail on the painting is fascinating. It obtains the original beautiful cream frame. Ready to hang. Mr. hawthorns vintage work has become very sought after and collectible. STEVE CHASE: Known for their contemporary elegance and comfort, Steve Chase’s residential interiors embodied the casual yet opulent style of California’s affluent. Natural elements such as wood, granite and leather prevailed in his sensuous designs, often enhanced by subtle lighting. Preferring to work closely with each project’s architect, Chase deftly blended all the elements of design to create a whole greater than the sum of its parts. Realizing his talents earlier than most, Chase began shaping his career and his distinctive style at age seventeen when he joined the design firm of La Tienda in Los Angeles. A 14-year affiliation with Arthur Elrod Associates followed, ending in 1980 with the founding of his namesake firm, Steve Chase Associates. With a staff of more than 20 based in Rancho Mirage, California, Chase’s projects extended beyond his signature residential work to include aircraft, yachts and homes in such far-off lands as Singapore and Germany. In addition, Chase designed the Bob Hope Cultural Center, the Behring Auto Museum and several West Coast...

His works of art are included in collections of the Japanese Imperial Family, Sheik Muhamed Nasser of Saudi Arabia, Clint Eastwood, Tony Bennett, Jose Eber, M. Rastropovich and many others. Mr. Snitkovsky has sold at Sotheby's and Christie's alongside the works of Matisse, Rodin, Picasso and Toulouse Lautrec. He has exhibited in London, Italy, Japan, Russia, New York, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Las Vegas (Caesar's Palace) and New Orleans. He and his wife Janet have produced over 1,000 paintings and many sculptures. The great Marc Chagall once said about Janet and Emmanuel Snitkovsky that, "They possess the technique of a virtuoso and show great professional mastery in all their works."
