Piero Fornasetti paraventi screen Italy 1954
By Piero Fornasetti
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Rare early paraventi / foldable screen designed by Piero Fornasetti and manufactured by Fornasetti in Italy in 1954. This version consists a ‘Libri’ theme on one side and a 'Battaglia Navale’ theme on the other. Fornasetti had many artistic interests; graphic design, decorative arts, historical prints, Italian art and architecture, Surrealism. And they all inspired his unique approach to decoration. The folding screen was one of his favourite formats, and here he has covered the screen’s surface with on one side books and objects like a vase, glass, shell, a roman foot, feather and more. Chinese Hardstone Flower Model in a Cloisonné Enamel Flowerpot
Located in London, GB
Chinese hardstone flower model in a cloisonné enamel flowerpot
Chinese, 20th Century
Height 18cm, width 11cm, depth 11cm
This intricate flower model combines super cloisonné enamelling with several carved semi-precious stones, making it a highly collectable object.
A metal trunk is set within the planter, treated with resin to evoke the natural texture of the bark. The trompe l’oeil illusion is continued via the branches, which are comprised of wire wrapped with brown thread. The branches are capped with a number of nephrite leaves and hardstone blooms, which contrast dark green shades with light red and pink flowers. The petals are carved from carnelian, rose quartz, and jade, and these hardstones can connote symbolic symbolism such as strength and healing. Each bloom is centred by a beaded stigma, the bright colours of which stand out against the hardstones.
The cloisonné enamel planter...

Peter A. Kotka Stiil Life with Wine

Located in Downingtown, PA
Modern Dutch Master: Peter A. Kotka,
"Still Life with Côte-Rôtie" Trompe l'œil
(c. 1995)
A masterfully executed oil on linen panel still life by the listed British artist Peter A. Kotka (b. 1951). Painted in the Trompe l'œil ("trick of the eye") tradition, this work revives the lighting and technical virtuosity of the 17th-century Dutch Masters.
The composition is set within a dark, shadowed alcove, dramatically illuminating the subject matter to create a sense of depth and atmosphere. A bottle of 1995 Chateau d'Ampuis Côte-Rôtie (a prestigious Rhone wine) stands beside a half-filled glass of red wine, capturing the translucency of the liquid. A soft cheese in a wooden round box, a scattering of grapes in a porcelain bowl, and a cork lying on the rustic wooden ledge complete the scene. The artist's signature is located in the lower right.
Condition: Excellent condition. The colors are vibrant and the surface is stable. Housed in a rustic wooden frame.
Measurements:
Height: 18 inches (45.72 cm)
Width: 16 inches (40.64 cm)
Depth: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
