Cartier, perhaps one of the most famous jewelry and watch brands in the world. But the brand is becoming more and more exclusive and expensive due to the large price increases. In this blog, we dive into the brand's price increases and what this is doing to the market.
The price increases of Cartier have not gone unnoticed by us. Why do these prices increase so often? Not only does Cartier raise their prices, but other designer jewelry and watch brands do the same. When one luxury brand raises its prices, others often follow to maintain their market positioning and perceived value — creating a cycle of continuous increases.

Price Increase
In April 2023, there was also a significant price development at Cartier. Prices rose by 5 to 15 percent — and now again. Cartier's items increased by 3 to 5 percent in April. This is mainly due to rising material costs. As the parent company, Richemont, is facing higher production expenses, which are reflected in the retail prices.
The LOVE Collection
The LOVE bracelet is an item that is incredibly popular with Cartier buyers. But this bracelet has already experienced several major price increases. Let’s start at the beginning. The bracelet came on the market in 1969 for $250. "Still a reasonable price," you might think, but in today’s world, it represents a significant investment. In 2024, this gold bracelet is selling in the $6,000–$7,000 range — a huge difference. And prices are only going up. As gold continues to rise in value, the value of this item is almost certain to increase as well.

Buying Cartier
Despite these increases, many Cartier pieces retain their value well — some even appreciate — making them attractive to both Cartier enthusiasts and investors. In short, if you’re considering purchasing a Cartier piece, it may be wise to do so before the next price increase.
When purchasing a Cartier item, we definitely recommend considering where you make the purchase. Purchasing a Cartier item in Europe can sometimes cost significantly more than in the U.S., mainly due to regional pricing strategies, taxes, and currency exchange rates — something many buyers find surprising.
