Well, here we are—2026 has arrived! And what better time than the start of a new year to take stock of the gaps in my capsule wardrobe? If you know me, you know I buy very few new clothing pieces each year, but I’d be lying if I said January didn’t give me that familiar itch to try something new. So, I consulted the oracle—i.e. my mum—and asked for her advice on what to buy in January 2026. What followed was a super-chic list of 15 anti-trend buys that my 59-year-old mum and I both love.
