History of the brand
Tiffany Co opened its first store on Broadway in New York City in 1837. Founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John Barnett Young, the affluent label originally went by the name Tiffany Young. But in 1953, Charles took sole control of the company and the brand changed its name to the now-famous moniker, Tiffany Co.
In 1862, Abraham Lincoln signed off the illustrious label as one of the most affluent brand names when he purchased a Tiffany seed pearl necklace and earrings for his wife, who wore them to the inaugural ball.
