Heathrow was a favorite spot for most European bag lovers, especially terminal 3. Our favorite Chanel boutique is open from 7.00 to 22.00. It’s stocked with bag, bags and bags. Oh yes, Chanel jumbo flap bag, Chanel 2.55 reissue and tote and medallions. They are all there and discounted.The
Chanel boutique in Heathrow airport was located in the tax-free area. So Chanel lovers could buy their bag at 14% discount because there are no administration fee involved. Some will even buy a cheap ticket, fly there for the night, just to get their hands on their favorite bags.But recently some
disappointing news have been announced. Chanel is going to stop stocking
iconic bags at Heathrow (like the classics). That’s their new policy. What a disappointing news.So what else is there to do? US and Asian can travel all the way to EU and get their Chanel bags with tax-refund. Europeans don’t have
much choices. Can we travel all the way to US or Asia to get some tax-refund or discount? Sight, I wish Chanel could make our life
easier and not harder.

Hi MissV, can you clarify? So you want to buy from boutiques in London and not at the airport. Yes you can get VAT-refund if you’re a tourist. The only difference is that the stores at the tax-free area airport doesn’t include VAT in their prices.
Actually I am looking at if London Heathrow airport doesn’t have classic flap jumbo which i suppose cost 3425GBP is before 20% Vat then maybe try at London boutique. which i am not sure how much it cost.
Hi MissV, 3425 GBP is after VAT, that’s also true in the boutiques. The VAT-return when purchased in the boutique is around 12 13 percent. The VAT is higher at Heathrow airport because when you apply for tax-refund, it doesn’t count the administration cost.

Then it seems like the price isn’t much cheaper after all. I am in Singapore and boutique sells SGD 7430. according to what u said if after vat still 3425 GBP then conversion is SGD 7360.71
Hi MissV, in Europe we say after VAT, which means the tax is included. So the prices 3425 GBP is with VAT, deduct the VAT (which is around 12 percent because you need to pay for commission, administration cost and so on for applying tax-refund), you will end up paying 3014 GBP (estimated). Convert that to SGD and you will get 6486 SGD (estimated). Boutique sells for 7430 SGD 6486 SGD = 944 SGD. It’s cheaper, but not as cheap as before Chanel’s price harmon. strategy. Hi girls! my mom’s BFF will be dropping by London Heathrow tomorrow and wed, and I was thinking if they might still have the limited edition 2.55 flap bags even though they no longer stock iconic bags… does their new policy include all kinds/types of the 2.55? because I wanna get the jumbo caviar GHW in dark navy blue which is limited edition (?) and it can’t be found in SG… anyone knows?:/
I just called them a few days ago, and to double check, I called again a week before and spoke to a different SA. They no longer stock ANY classic or popular bags: classic flaps, or 2.55 reissue.
The only bags they will stock is the new season collections.

I called the chanel boutique at heathrow this morning. The store still sells the classic bags and the staff did not say they will stop stocking.

I was looking for a classic medium flap at T3 but SA told me they were no longer sell classic flap bags at Heathrow duty free shops, so that I got a GST instead but the dusty bag is very small and not so convient when stores and takes the bag out. It was at end do Jan13.
Anyone knows the current price of the medium flap? Can it fit small wallet, mob, camera, mirror, tissue and other essential for going out? Is lambskin really hard to maintain? What the lambskin will look like after few years later? Any picture. One of my LV still looks like new after 7 years.

Heathrow is not selling iconic bags, but some classic they do sell. Like the Chanel classic Large shopping bag in tiole.

The Chanel medium flap is not that big. My jumbo only fit: iphone, ipad, large wallet, sunglass case and a cosmetic box. The size of the medium is much smaller, because the jumbo is a double flap. Imagine that…
I have a caviar, but heard that lambskin does look more beautifull vintage after a few years.
