This textural study by Carol Pylant combines collaged elements, modeling paste and oil paint. A study for her larger paintings, this formative work is a deftly painted depiction of a wall and antique blue wooden door at the Artigas Foundation outside Barcelona in Spain. The landscape in the background is taken from a different part of the property. The collage and modeling paste bring depth to the surface, capturing the stucco texture in the wall.
