Raymond Georges Yves Tanguy (January 5, 1900 – January 15, 1955), known as just Yves Tanguy, was a French surrealist painter. Tanguy's paintings have a unique, immediately recognizable style of nonrepresentational surrealism. They show vast, abstract landscapes, mostly in a tightly limited palette of colors, only occasionally showing flashes of contrasting color accents. Typically, these alien landscapes are populated with various abstract shapes, sometimes angular and sharp as shards of glass, sometimes with an intriguingly organic look to them, like giant amoebae suddenly turned to stone.
Benjamin Péret (Rezé, July 4, 1899 - Paris, September 18, 1959); he was a French poet. Alongside Breton he was among the most important and influential protagonists of the surrealist movement. He wrote poems characterized by a vehement anti-bourgeois aggression, by the rejection of the clichés of morality, by the parody of official rhetoric: Le Passager Du Transatlantique, Je Ne Mange Pas De Ce Pain-La, Feu Central. Faithful to the libertarian and internationalist ideal, communist militant, then Trotskyist, he enlisted in the international brigades...

Born : Yusuf Arakkal (1945 – 2016) was born in Kerala.
Education & Art Career : Both his parents died when he was young. Leaving the comforts of his house behind, he left for Bangalore, lonely but with a passion to become a painter. The hardships that he faced at Bangalore honed the artist in him and sharpened his sensibility. He took a diploma in painting from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat (KCP), Bangalore and later specialized in graphic print making from National Academy community studios, Garhi, Delhi.

WHAT IS A CYANOTYPE?

Cyanotype is a historic photographic processes, invented in 1842 and used by Anna Atkins–the first female photographer. The process involves coating watercolor paper with light-sensitive chemistry made of iron salts. Photographic negatives are laid on top, exposed in the sunlight, and then washed in water to develop into the deep Prussian-blue unique to cyanotypes. Brings a moment of beauty and conversation to any space.
