Michele Kishita's contemporary abstract landscape paintings on wood panel collectively describe the calm and fluidity of bodies of water at specific moments of the day; the new growth of spring; the pale freeze of mid-winter; and the interplay of light, shadow, and speed recalling movement through the urban landscape. Kishita received her MFA and BFA degrees from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She has held artist residencies in Iceland, Russia, and New Mexico, and her work has been featured in exhibitions across the US, in Russia, and in the United Arab Emirates. Her work can be found in the permanent collections of Toyota, Kaiser Permanente, Park Towne Place, Temple University, Drexel University, Texas Tech University, the University of the Arts.
