"Drawbridge", Modernist Bay Area California Abstracted Landscape with Boats
By David Fleming
Located in Soquel, CA
"Drawbridge", an expressive contemporary abstracted landscape painting by David Fleming (American, 20th Century). The artist uses swirling, painterly brushstrokes in a palette of primary colors; the blue water and sky with yellow accents framed by red urban landmasses on each side, highlighted with touches of green detail work that blends from geometric cityscape into abstraction. Signed "Fleming" lower right. Unframed. Canvas size: 24"H x 36"W. Santa Cruz artist David Fleming graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in industrial design, and soon went to work for Ford in Detroit as a car stylist. Life - New York City Original Aerial View Oil Painting on Canvas by Albert Vidal
Located in Chicago, IL
This painting of New York City's Chrysler Building captures a wide swath of Manhattan from an areal view. Using palette knife and brush Albert Vidal manages to combine realist painting with abstraction. Splashes of bright blue, red and green paint graffiti the surface in a Jackson Pollack like effect. The numbers at the bottom of the painting represent the artist's signature. This artwork is framed in a simple black wood float. Albert Vidal Life, 2015 oil on linen 52h x 52w in Albert Vidal is an aerial urban landscapes painter based in Barcelona, Spain. He has painted mostly landscapes from around the world for over 20 years and is inspired by artists such as Antonio Lopez Garcia and Anselm Kiefer. The artist thinks about his compositions in a three dimensional way with paint relief that creates dimension and body in the piece. The emptiness which represents a sea or wasteland keep the balance of the composition as well as the ensemble. The artificial space Vidal creates evolves over time and explores the difference between cities, urban planning, and their structures. INDIVIDUAL EXIBITIONS albert vidal February. I Know Everything - Birds Eye View of Chicago Looking East, Oil Acrylic
Located in Chicago, IL
While visiting Chicago in the summer of 2019, Vidal was afforded a stunning view of the city from various vantage points. This bird's eye view is looking east into the city with a peak of Lake Michigan in the background and captures a portion of Chicago's iconic skyline. The loose, abstract brush strokes and warm color palette come together in this remarkable urban landscape painting. The bottom of the painting is marked with Vidal's signature - a series of numbers. The artist has carried the painting over the edges, thus allowing it to remain unframed. Alternate framing options can be discussed with the gallery.
