Caves Petrissans, first printing lithograph art deco French restaurant poster
Located in Spokane, WA
Original Caves Petrissan lithograph in excellent condition. First printing of this poster from the original maquette. Artist: Charles Loupot.
Captured in a dreamlike Art Deco style, this Caves Petrissans poster is a celebrated work by the master Swiss graphic artist Charles Loupot. Originally designed to promote the historic Parisian wine bar and bistro, it is an iconic example of early 20th-century commercial elegance.
The poster depicts a stylish woman delicately inhaling the bouquet of a glass of wine, emphasizing the refined "nose" and the quality of the cellar's selection.
Charles Loupot (1892–1962) was a titan of French graphic design, celebrated as one of the "four musketeers" of Art Deco, alongside A.M. Cassandre, Jean Carlu, and Paul Colin. His career spanned more than fifty years, during which he moved from elegant, painterly illustrations to pioneering minimalist abstraction in advertising.
During WWI recovery in Switzerland, he honed his lithographic skills, developing a style that blended bold French color with the structured precision of Swiss typography...

Ballet und Pantomime "Bingha", plate #8.
Located in Palm Beach, FL
Walter Schnackenberg’s style changed several times during his long and successful career. Having studied in Munich, the artist traveled often to Paris where he fell under the spell of the Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s colorful and sensuous posters depicting theatrical and decadent subjects. Schnackenberg became a regular contributor of similar compositions to the German magazines Jugend and Simplicissimus before devoting himself to the design of stage scenery and costumes. In the artist’s theatrical work, his mastery of form, ornamentation, and Orientalism became increasingly evident. He excelled at combining fluid Art Nouveau outlines, with spiky Expressionist passages, and the postures and patterns of the mysterious East.
In his later years, Schnackenberg explored the unconscious, using surreal subject matter and paler colors that plainly portrayed dreams and visions, some imbued with political connotations. His drawings, illustrations, folio prints, and posters are highly sought today for their exceedingly imaginative qualities, enchanting subject matter, and arresting use of color.

Original Moutarde AMORA Condiments vintage French antique poster linen-backed
By Leon Dupin
Located in Spokane, WA
Original Amora Mustard Poster by Leon Dupin – Archival linen-backed French lithograph. Very fine to excellent condition. Undated, but it is presumed to be from the 1930s. No restoration or damage. Excellent colors on French antique (light crème) paper.
A striking original vintage poster advertising Amora Mustard, designed by the renowned French artist Leon Dupin. This authentic piece features Dupin’s signature style and vibrant imagery, capturing the classic French culinary spirit that has made Amora a household name since the early 20th century. Art deco era.
Consumed for thousands of years, mustard is a condiment known for its medicinal qualities. Around 1750, Jean-Baptiste Naigeon, the son of a master vinegar maker, revolutionized Dijon mustard by replacing vinegar with unripe grape juice. This new recipe made the mustard milder, more fragrant, and helped it last longer. In 1919, the Bizouard family, who had taken over the business, registered the 'Amora" brand. The name is credited to Armand Bizouard, who, upon tasting the mustard, is said to have exclaimed, "This is a wonderful mustard, it will be Amora!"
Amora was the name of the rising sun god Ra Ora (Amon Ra). Enchanted by this divine connection, the new brand name was adopted.
A striking vintage poster advertising Amora Mustard, designed by the renowned French artist Leon Dupin. This authentic piece showcases Dupin’s signature style and vibrant imagery, capturing the classic French culinary spirit that has made Amora a household name since the early 20th century.
The poster is professionally archival, linen-backed, and ready to be framed to your exact specifications, ensuring preservation and stability. Condition is excellent, with vivid colors and crisp lines throughout—a testament to its careful conservation.
Rarely available and with only a few copies found over the years, this piece is essential for collectors of vintage French ephemera...

Original Affiches Paul Mohr Compagnie Nationale des Papers 1932 vintage poster
Located in Spokane, WA
Original small format poster Affiches Paul Mohr, 1932. Archival linen backed in excellent condition, ready to frame. The rare Paul Mohr posters are incredibly elusive; many have had only one remaining known copy survive. Printing method: Helio-Typo or Typelo.
Before television, beautiful lithographs adorn the streets and walls of Paris and other European cities. Art for the street, art for the public. Weather and rain would destroy these works of art by renowned artists, only to be replaced.
The artist: Paul Gustave Mohr, a French Avant-garde poster designer from the Art Deco period was born Sept. 4, 1890 in Ham, France and died on April 13, 1959 in Paris. He lived most of his life in Paris, and then settled in the small town of Asnieres, France, just outside of Paris. He attended the Sorbonne University, as well as several art schools. During World War I, he was a pilot in the French Army from 1914-1917. Paul Mohr married Jeanne Levy in 1917 and they had three daughters: Helene, Genevieve, and Jacqueline.
As an artist, he designed advertising posters from 1920 to 1940. His
posters advertised Wonder cycles, Dainty cycles, Lustucru pasta, Banania sugar, Bremsit brakes, Champigneulles beer, L'Union beer, Dubonnet wine, as well as shoes and ham.
This information was provided to me by my mother, Helene Mohr Breitenbucher, who was his eldest daughter. Carol Schuler (granddaughter)
Advertising posters, the affiches of Paul Mohr. This is an original advertising poster for the affiches (posters) created by the master artist Paul Mohr (1890-1959). Archival linen backed in very good condition. No stains, no tears, no paper loss. Grade A condition. Ready to frame. Compagnie Nationale des Papier, Paris.
The crowd on the street looks up in amazement at the art deco-style images that the artist created. Images on the wall feature incredible image that this artist created such as Lustucru, Amer...
