The title of the artwork is taken from a verse of the the Book of Joel: "Canite tuba in Sion, ululate in monte sancto meo". The artwork represents a standing figure with a trumpet. The figure is stylized and the lines of contour are undefined. The colors express a sense of vivacity and energy.

In the course of his long career, he successfully experimented with sculpture, fashion, writing, and filmmaking. In his early use of organic morphology, his work bears the stamp of Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró. Dalí was born near Barcelona to a middle class family. He soon demonstrated an interest in art, and, at the age of 18, he attended the Special Painting, Sculpture and Engraving School of San Fernando in Madrid.
