Corneille devises his colorful fantastic imagery with exotic plant forms, sensuous female bodies, animals and lively pattern design. LE TAPIS NOIR is an erotic and intimate interior scene depicting a lying female nude whose muted beige pink body with dark maroon hair and cobalt blue delineated form reclines on a deep black carpet provocatively looking out toward the viewer.
