Zack Seckler's series, “Botswana,” is comprised of a series of exquisite aerial photographs taken in the Kalahari basin in south central Africa between 2009 and 2010. The body of work offers a quite different and almost magical view of the much-photographed and iconic landscape. In order to be able to capture these breathtaking images, Seckler enlisted the services of an expert pilot who flew a small, ultra-lightweight aircraft at low altitudes under 500 feet.

Our original etching, an artist proof, confirms the artist's love for classic style in the wake of another great artist from the region Marche: Luigi Bartolini.
The hills and the trees clearly emerge among the often rampant whites, but on closer inspection there is no sign that the view is not built, everything is defined by a fabric of lines that thickens for the contours, and it is made rarer for the shadows. She seems to draw her landscapes from absolute white, where the edges of the real irrepressible by a single line are defined by the hatching. A real skilled hand demonstrates a full mastery of the artistic technique and a real suggestive hatching that has something of the geometrical rigor.
In very good conditions, except for a minor stain on the lower left margin and some imperceptible signs of time.
Fiorella Diamantini was born in Cingoli in 1931 and graduated from the Book School of Urbino and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. She studied engraving with Leonardo Castellani in Urbino and Mino Maccari in Rome. Since 1958, she has taught in Rome Techniques of Engraving, first assistant of Mino Maccari, then of Arnoldo Ciarrocchi.
From 1951, she lived in Rome. In 1980, she moved to Umbria, in Spello. She has been invited to the most important engraving reviews: the Venice Biennale (1956), the Venice Black and White Biennial, the Rome Quadrennial and the national and international exhibitions organized at the National Chalcography of Rome. His works have been presented at the Michel Gallery in Paris, at the Stockholm National Museum, at the National Chalcography of Rome, at the International Rossetti Library in Rome, at the Prandi Library in Reggio Emilia. Her works are present at the InClub Publishing House in Florence and the Galaverni Saletta in Reggio Emilia. Gallery curates a series of original etchings from respected European artist Cuca Romley. Ms Romley is in her late 80's and currently based in Spain. She was trained at The École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA), a distinguished National School of Fine Arts in Paris, France.
The artist won several noted awards for her art in her native Spain, and in Paris, France. She worked as an artist and also had a career in advertising, illustration and interior design, in Spain, France and New York. As an artist, she has had solo and group exhibitions first Paris, France, Monaco, Japan, Spain and the US.
ETCHINGS
Cuca Romley’s etchings of both famous and little places around the world are depicted with a remarkable attention to detail, a style that belies her sophisticated sense of line and color. These etchings capture a bygone era of a city in flux, and a snap shot of a classic image of a place. Each plate is etched with patience and a thoroughness reminiscence of the earlier days of engraving, in exquisite and fine detail.
Romley creates her intricate design on the etching ground that covers the copper plate. After the acid has etched the lines into the copper plate she engraves the details into the plate with a buril until the image is completed. For each individual print a master printer must ink the plate and wipe the surface clean. The plate is placed on the bed of the press and the previously wet French Arches paper 100% cotton covering the plate to pass through the press, and that completes the printing process.
After the printing ink has dried for a couple of days, the etching is ready for the hand coloring by the artist. There are often more than 30 colors in one of Romley’s images. Each print can take up to 6 hours to color; these colors impart a subtle transparent effect that compliments the delicacy of the line.
Every etching in the limited edition is then signed and numbered in pencil by the artist.
