Carl Dimitri Paintings

C. Dimitri has received fellowships in painting from the Vermont Studio Center and the RI State Council on the Arts. A staff illustrator for The Rumpus, he has illustrated texts and book covers and has added drawings to the Kenyon Review, Bomb Magazine, and the streets of Providence. Two of his climate-change graph paintings are in the permanent collection of the Boston Public Library.

Solo exhibitions include the Tabla Rasa Gallery (Brooklyn), Aurora (Providence), and Crocker Griffin (Narragansett), with select exhibits at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and Brooklyn's Irondale Theater, Greenpoint, and Groundfloor galleries. He has also shown in Miami, Provincetown, and Los Angeles.

Dimitri received a doctorate in literature from the University of Essex, England. His focus on aesthetic modernism informs his visual work.
