Superb Condition Wooden Corpus Christi on Crucifix, 1900s
Located in Lisse, NL
Antique Arts & Crafts crucifix with stunning hand carved details and an amazing patina.
This remarkable and good size sculpture of Christ (who has just bowed His head) on the cross is different to almost all others. The artist who hand-sculpted this impressive work of religious art has created a church relic that, in our view, is second to none. And that is because this uniquely hand carved corpus comes with numerous stylized details that are unlike anything you will have ever seen. It is a style of carving that is very recognizable for being from the European Arts and Crafts...

Rare Folk Art Black Forest Root Wood Table Clock w. Bell Ringer Monk, Cuckoo St.
Located in Lisse, NL
Rare and great folk-art workmanship mantel clock for the collectors and enthousiasts.
Over the years we have had the pleasure of owning and selling a number of beautiful Black Forest antiques, but never did we come accross a 19th century Black Forest, Folk Art table clock of this design and subject matter and with such amazing natural organic details. This small church or chapel-like 'clockhouse' is entirely handcrafted out of all kinds of wood, but the most eye-catching is ofcourse the organic root wood. Each piece is like an abstract sculpture and depending on how you see things, they may look like one thing to you, but like something completely different to the next person. Because of all the natural materials that were used this small church has a stunning organic look and feel, but what really takes it to another level is the bell striking mechanism. Every six hours the church bell will ring many times, the door on the left will open at every 'strike', revealing the original monk sculpture inside (as shown in the attached video in this listing). With the hand carved crucifix on the right side being made of the same color and materials, it totally blends in with the entire organic design of this Christian antique. Over the many decades this good size and rare antique clock has also grown the most amazing patina and with the natural beauty and unique artisanship that it radiates people will want to stop and study its uniqueness. This work-of-art-table-clock comes with a single day clock mechanism, protected from dust by the original 'back door'. It runs and strikes perfectly and comes with an antique key for winding it. Apart from a few minor imperfections, this rare antique is in excellent condition, which makes it perfect for lovers of unique and rare clocks in general and for Black Forest and Christian Folk Art collectors in particular.
Mind you, our fair price for this sizable antique cuckoo clock...

Stunning Handcrafted Late 1800s Gothic Casket with Peacock
Gargoyle Sculptures
Located in Lisse, NL
Beautiful and rare Gothic Revival treasure box with bronze handle.
If you are a collector of antique boxes and/or if you are looking for an extraordinary jewelry box to grace your credenza or side table then this unique and top quality made specimen in the Gothic style could be perfect. Gothic Revival boxes are very hard to find and we have never seen one with such prodigious carvings on all sides. The unique and cat-like dragon gargoyles (with fangs) that look like they are carrying this casket, are just some of the stunningly carved and detailed sculptures that make this antique rarity even more artistic and impressive.
Another great feature are the peacock sculptures. In Christianity the peacock is the symbol of purity. Christians believe that once someone has passed their soul rises and goes to heaven. This is why in earlier times Christians would spread the feathers of a peacock over the deceased since it symbolized a pure soul that was immune to corruption. The peacock also represents immortality, resurrection, and the spiritual teachings of Jesus Christ and the Christian church.
Have you also noticed the top quality details on both ends of the bronze handle on top? The quality of that ornamental work is of the absolute highest standard also. There are many more incredibly beautiful, hand carved details and together they show that no expense was spared to create one of the most amazing Gothic caskets...

Mexican Tin Candleholder Hand-Punched Folk Art from the Jonathan Parks Estate
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
An exceptional mid-century Mexican tin candleholder, featuring three arms and intricate hand-punched star and dot motifs typical of folk tinwork from Oaxaca and central Mexico. The symmetrical, crescent-shaped form is elevated on a pedestal base, giving the piece both architectural structure and sculptural presence. The underside bears the simple stamped mark “MEXICO,” confirming its origin.
This piece was sourced from the Jonathan Parks estate in Santa Fe, known for his discerning eye for Southwestern and Latin American art and design. The geometric punching patterns and domed detailing echo traditional “hojalata” (tin art) techniques that Mexican artisans developed in the 19th and 20th centuries—originally inspired by Spanish colonial metalwork traditions.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition with age-appropriate wear, light surface oxidation, and minor irregularities consistent with handcraftsmanship. The piece retains a soft, silvery patina that highlights its intricate texture and history.
Styling Ideas
- Display as a centerpiece on a rustic farmhouse or desert-modern dining table, flanked by pottery or woven textiles.
- Style on a mantel, console, or altar table alongside santos figures, retablos, or other Mexican tinwork.
- Perfect for interiors that celebrate Santa Fe style, Hacienda revival, or old-world craftsmanship — blending beautifully with both European and Southwestern antiques...
