An exceptional, fine and impressive antique William III English Britannia silver porringer, an addition to our 18th century silverware collection. This antique William III Britannia standard silver porringer has a circular rounded form. The lower portion of this 17th century silver porringer is embellished with chased alternating fluted decoration accented with an engraved simplified scalloped border. The upper portion is encircled with a chased rope twist decorated girdle. The decoration to the anterior surface displays the contemporary pin struck initials 'R.T A.D' and the date '1697'. This Britannia silver porringer is fitted with two rope twist decorated S scroll handles. Britannia Silver - The Britannia silver standard of 958 (95.84% of fine silver), denoted by the icon of the seated Britannia holding an oval shield, was introduced by William III in 1697. This exceptional and unusual antique sterling silver trophy has been crafted in the form of a Yorkshire or Kent doubles dartboard*. The face of the dartboard clearly depicts the appropriately numbered segments and the wirework spider. This fine George V trophy is supported by an ebonised wood mount and an Art Deco style angular ebonised wooden base. The base displays six hallmarked vacant presentation plaques; each plaque may be engraved with a personal inscription if so desired. This magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian English cast sterling silver table centrepiece has been realistically modelled in the form of a horse and huntsman. The model is embellished with details replicating the large horse's anatomical features, coat and mane. The saddled and bridled silver horse ornament is stood behind a gentleman figure bearing huntsman attire comprised of a hunting coat, loose breeches, riding boots with spurs and helmet. The exceptional male character grasps the horse's reigns in one hand and a riding crop in the other. Both figures stand to a solid silver base ornamented with a rockwork texture. The body of this 1870s silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved foliate festoons accented with pensile leaf drops; these vertical designs form four cartouches. The cartouche to one side bears a bright cut engraved fruit design; the further three remain vacant. The knopped stem is encircled with a plain moulded border to the centre. The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved overlapping arch designs, accented with an applied bead decorated border to the rim. Condition This antique 1870s silver goblet is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. 19th Century Antique German Silver and Cut-Glass Claret Jug

A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique German silver and cut glass claret jugs; an addition to our wine and drinks related silverware collection. These magnificent antique German silver and glass claret jugs have a moon flask shaped form. The cylindrical necks are encircled with embossed knops, each ornamented with scrolling decoration on a matt background. The upper bead decorated knop of each jug is surmounted with an impressive boat shaped collar, incorporating a flared lip and fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover. The covers are further ornamented with embossed decoration to the domed portions, displayed within plain paralleling arabesque shaped borders, accented with impressive single scrolling leaf decorated thumbpieces. Each cover is surmounted with an exceptional finial featuring fluted and scroll decoration surmounted with swept leaf designs incorporating a ball terminal. The glass bodies of these antique claret jugs are embellished with fine and impressive, large cut glass floral motifs accented with a textured background to each incurve. Each glass vessel is enveloped with an impressive 800 standard silver surround incorporating a strapwork bordered cartouche to either side; one displays the contemporary engraved initials 'TSE' and the other bears the German inscription '1855, 18 Marz, 1880'. The silver surrounds to the jugs are embellished with impressive embossed scenes depicting a nude nymph style character pouring liquid from a bottle into a large chalice, all bordered with interlacing scrolling leaf designs emanating from the upper and lower portions. These magnificent jugs are fitted with an exceptional, fine and impressive silver ribbed, scrolling handles enveloped with plain handpieces and embellished with further strapwork decoration and incorporating a scrolling leaf decorated thumbpieces. Each jug is supported by an impressive circular spreading foot encircled with an embossed scrolling leaf ornamentation, matching the style of the knop to the neck. The subdued matte finish to the 800 standard silver bodies of these impressive jugs are accented with gilt ornamentation to the paralleling borders, enhanced with simplistic bright cut engraved decoration. The interior of the cover and lipped collar retain the original gilt interior. Condition These antique glass claret jugs are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition in keeping with age. The glass body of each jug is in perfect condition. The German silver 800 standard mark struck to the rim of each foot are all very clear. Dimensions Length from back of handle to lip 15.5cm/6.1". Diameter of body 14.5cm/5.7". The surface of each handle is embellished with a paralleling thread decorated border. The anterior surface of each handle terminal is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a stag's head erased. The posterior surface of each piece is plain and unembellished, apart from a rounded heel to the bowl of each spoon and drop of each fork. This Victorian sterling silver flatware set consists of 66 pieces: 24 Table forks 12 Table spoons 12 Dessert forks 12 Dessert spoons 6 Serving spoons These exceptional example of antique silverware have been crafted by the collectable silversmiths William Eaton (in 1839-1841) and Elizabeth Eaton (in 1852). An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver toast rack with equestrian influence; an addition to our dining silverware collection. This exceptional and rare antique silver toast rack has an oval-shaped form. This desirable and collectable Victorian silver toast rack is comprised of six sterling silver spurs, creating four compartments. Each arched compartment is conjoined via the button to the lower portion of the heelband with hallmarked chain structured links. The four vertical and two horizontal stirrups each bears a curvilinear shank and functional rowel. The central frame supports the horizontal spurs and incorporates an oval shaped carrying handle modelled in form of a stirrup, bearing a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-lion rampant to the lower portion. A fine pair of vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver two-light candelabra in the George I style; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver candelabra have a plain circular form, in the George I style. Each impressive two-light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support two rounded waisted capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The knopped stems are surmounted on sunken wells, to tooled decorated circular spreading bases. The filled bases retain the original leatherette covering to the underside. The base of each was made by Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd and the labra were crafted by William Bruford & Son; these items will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the bases are struck with the date letter 'd' and the labra bear 'e'. These exceptional and collectable George III sterling silver wine labels have a curvilinear ovoid-shaped form. These antique silver labels / tickets are ornamented with a bright cut engraved and pin struck scrolling designs accented with gadroon decorated scrolling leaf motifs paralleling the borders. The body of each label is engraved with the individual wine or spirit: 'Port' and 'Hock'. The upper portion of each label features a circular cartouche ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-lion, holding between the paws a roundel. A fine and impressive pair of antique American cast sterling silver tapersticks; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection. These impressive antique American sterling silver tapersticks have an octofoil panelled form, replicating the details of a Classic English George I style. The plain panelled waisted cylindrical capitals are encircled with protruding scalloped borders to the rims. Each plain waisted column bears a panelled bulbous knop to the upper portion and further scalloped decoration to the lower. The columns surmount octagonal shaped, incurved bases with a sunken well and plain collet style rim. Each candlestick does not have a weighted base. The underside of each base bears the maker's mark 'James Robinson' and 'sterling' standard mark. Condition These antique tapersticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The hallmarks struck to the underside of each base are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
