This is an absolutely stunning Amethyst and Rose Quartz Heart Motif Necklace and Earring Set in 14 Karat Yellow Gold. The jewels are from the estate of Hollywood Legend Mary Lou Daves and we have a photo of Ms. Daves wearing them. Ms. Daves' jewelry exemplified her exquisite taste. Her jewels were unique, dramatic and elegant and most were the gift of her beloved husband, the legendary Hollywood director Delmer Daves. Ms. Daves explored the concept of Love throughout her life exemplified by her book, "Lovers: 100 Works of Art Celebrating Romantic Love...", and these romantic jewels are another example of her enduring expression of love.
The necklace is composed of natural Amethyst and Rose Quartz gems carved into hearts. The combination of the purple amethyst gems and the rose quartz is absolutely exquisite. The design of the necklace is stunning as the cascading bib of heart shaped gems plays beautifully around the neck. The necklace is 14 Karat Yellow Gold and has a wonderful barrel clasp.
The necklace is complemented by the fabulous Amethyst Heart Earrings. The large amethyst hearts have magnificent color and their size is absolutely fabulous.
The earrings hanging from the ear are a pure statement of love. When combined with the dramatic hearts around the neck the combination is truly unmatched.
Provenance: The heart motif necklace and earrings are from the Bel Air estate of Delmer and Mary Lou Daves where a who's who of Hollywood legends (Cole Porter entertained guests at the piano) were entertained. Their love story began on the set of the 1938 film, "Professor Beware." As a successful contract writer for Warner Bros., Delmer Daves wrote the screenplay and wanted to visit the set to see how things were going. 19-year-old, Mary Lawrence was cast as the Bride. He was instantly smitten. "So you're playing the bride? I wish you would marry me," he quipped. "I shall answer you with the same spirit you asked me. Of course I will be yours forever." The two were married for 39 years, had three children and a lifetime of adventures.
His career spanned 40 years during which he wrote and/or directed 80 movies including:

This is a fantastic, antique SANTO DOMINGO Kewa Pueblo necklace. The piece is very rare and special as it is made with a Petrified Shell pendant instead of the typical shell. This piece consists of a large petrified shell pendant which is inlaid with turquoise, white shell, and black onyx. The pendant hangs from a necklace of graduated, thin, turquoise disk-shaped and what I believe are clay or further petrified material, Heishi beads.
The pendant measures approximately 2 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches wide.
The necklace portion is 25 inches long.
The wonderful necklace would be a fine addition to a collection of Native American or southwest jewelry.

This is an absolutely exquisite monumental 750 carat smoky topaz and natural carved Jade Necklace from the estate of Hollywood Legend Mary Lou Daves. Ms. Daves' jewelry exemplified her exquisite taste. Her jewels were unique, dramatic and elegant.
Provenance: The necklace is from the Bel Air estate of Delmer and Mary Lou Daves where a who's who of Hollywood legends (Cole Porter entertained guests at the piano) were entertained. Their love story began on the set of the 1938 film, "Professor Beware." As a successful contract writer for Warner Bros., Delmer Daves wrote the screenplay and wanted to visit the set to see how things were going. 19-year-old, Mary Lawrence was cast as the Bride. He was instantly smitten. "So you're playing the bride? I wish you would marry me," he quipped. "I shall answer you with the same spirit you asked me. Of course I will be yours forever." The two were married for 39 years, had three children and a lifetime of adventures.
His career spanned 40 years during which he wrote and/or directed 80 movies including:

This is a spectacular antique Victorian - Belle Epoque Butterfly Pendant or Brooch set throughout with Rose Cut Diamonds, Pearls and Rubies in a gorgeous open work design in Silver atop 14 Karat Yellow Gold. This is one of the most beautiful Butterfly Insect jewels we have seen. The Butterfly has a detachable brooch pin on the reverse which can be easily unscrewed to convert the jewel to a pendant necklace. The Butterfly is set throughout its wings with Rose Cut Diamonds. Each diamond is set within its own open work section. The sections are then combined into a fully three dimensional butterfly with exquisite craftsmanship and artistry. In the center of the body are four stunning silvery white pearls which may be natural. The eyes of the insect are two round Ruby cabochons.
