This vibrant etching by Peter Max, Flower Jumper Over Sunrise (Sa), exemplifies the artist’s iconic Pop Art style, merging bold outlines with radiant washes of pastel color. The central composition depicts a whimsical figure leaping energetically across a golden sunrise, surrounded by floating flowers that capture Max’s signature themes of optimism, freedom, and cosmic imagery.
Enhancing its uniqueness, the work includes two hand-drawn colored pencil remarques: a “Sage with Cane” in the lower left and a stylized profile portrait in the upper right, both executed by Max himself. This etching comes from the Arabic numbered edition of 495 examples (which includes artist proofs, museum proofs, hors commerce proofs, and Roman numbered proofs).
