This large 14.75" obelisk is made of Derbyshire black marble. The obelisk is very elegantly inlaid with a variety of semi-precious polished hard-stone, including Derbyshire Blue John, lapis lazuli, malachite, Carrara marble, polished agate etc.
The top of the obelisk is inlaid with colored stone in a floral design, below is a mercury thermometer with the name "J, Turner Buxton", the thermometer is fully functioning, the base is also inlaid with colored stone in a floral design, the obelisk is raised on a stepped base.

The shovel shaped spoon having a gilded ground, the handle and rear of the spoon is finely decorated with multicolored floral cloisonne, with jewel tone colors of blue, turquoise, ivory and red. The spoon stem having turned and gilded decoration, the spoon is stamped to the rear of the stem with the maker's marks, silver mark of 84 and the mark for Moscow.

Arguably one of the best dental cabinets ever made, with so many unique features (and forgive the pun) cutting edge technology of the late 19th century. This cabinet was patented in 1899 and made of solid quarter sawn oak throughout, with carved accents above the beveled shaped mirror and carved & pierced brackets to the base with turned ribbed column supports.
The cabinet has a removable travel drawer case for making house calls, to the top of the case is a brass carrying handle and a brass plaque with the manufacturers name and "Patent applied for", making this one of the earliest manufactured of this model. The two part cabinet comprising a two door cabinet on stand, the top having a carved & stepped crown, below are a pair of cupboard doors the rectangular panels in relief and carved with a lozenge design to the center, these panels are repeated on the sides. The doors are flanked with a pair of carved winged cherub masks with a carved foliate panel below, a corresponding carved panel is between the doors. The rear of the doors are covered with a mustard colored fabric and can be easily removed, the doors have the original hand cut steel lock and key and the doors enclose a single shelf.
The cabinet dates circa 1650 the stand below is from the mid 19th century, circa 1850, the stand having a single drawer carved with a saints head to the center & a carved frieze with arches containing carved acanthus leaf. A very fine & large pair of 19th century antique French Sevres Porcelain, ormolu and champleve enamel, handpainted ewers, signed "C. Rochette", circa 1890.
Each ewer having a finely cast & gilded bronze rococo handle, each neck is decorated with exquisite champleve enamel. Each ewer having a dark blue porcelain baluster shaped body, with two oval hand-painted reserves each with a courting couple signed "C. Rochette", both reserves are surrounded with lavish gilding & at the base of each painted panel are the Sevres interlaced L's. To the rear are corresponding panels also finely handpainted with landscape scenes, the ewers are raised on champleve socle bases and with onyx plinths below.
Condition of both ewers is excellent, a very beautiful pair of exqusite late 19th century Sevres ewers...

The table is made from the finest flame mahogany & having two drop leaves with curved skirts that are supported by butterfly bracket supports, the table having a deeply carved turned baluster shaped pedestal with four curved legs. Both the pedestal & legs are deeply carved with acanthus leaf decoration, each leg terminates to a substantial lion's paw foot and each is raised on the original brass castor.
This is a period table from the first quarter of the 1800s not a later revival piece from the late 1800s. Some Empire furniture can be heavy & bulky, this table is very elegant and displays the skill of the early 19th century...

A good & substantial antique French Lyonnaise carved walnut Provincial three drawer commode chest, in the Regence style, Lyon, France, circa 1730.
The commode being of serpentine form and having three large drawers, each drawer is carved with Rococo scrolls and shell motifs, the drawers with gilt bronze handles and escutcheons. The commode is raised on short cabriole feet, as is common with these chests from Lyon, they are larger in size and have plenty of drawer space for storage.
