A quite scarce and coveted hardcover book in slipcase - "Dali: A Study of His Art-In-Jewels (The Collection of the Owen Cheatham Foundation)".
Bound into the book are color photographs of 28 jewels designed by Dali with comments and captions written by the artist himself. The book was published by The New York Graphics Society in 1959 - a quite collectible first edition/first printing (with no other printings noted) of the art book.
The book is boldly hand-signed and dated (in the year of publication - 1959) by Dali on the lower corner of the first blank page/ front free endpaper. As such, exceedingly rare (we only know of two other existing copies, and only one was also signed in the year the book was published).
A scarce signed edition. Would be a great addition to any collector of Dali's work or those who appreciate his fine art jewelry...

A beautifully executed, handmade, wood-turned weed vase by master woodturner Rude Osolnik who is widely regarded, along with Bob Stocksdale, as one of the finest woodturners in American woodturning history. In 1992, he was presented by then-Kentucky Governor Brereton Jones, with the Milner Award, the Governor's Award for Lifetime Achievement.
The vase is made from spalted wood (hard to make out the exact wood on the base) and features highlighted wood grain and shades of dark and light areas. It is signed "Osolnik Originals" and "Spalted ...." by the Osolnik on the base.

Kinpei Nakamura was born in the town of Kanazawa, A chance encounter with pottery master Kitaôji Rosanjin at a young age influenced him greatly and he began his artistic pottery career in Japan during the 1960s. Early on, he was heavily influenced by 20th Century Western abstract painting and sculpture as well as Jomon-style ceramics and modernist sculpture (as clearly seen in this piece). His experiments with forms and textures were considered quite radical at the time. He would later travel to the united States to further his studies (he was inspired by American potters such as Peter Voulkos) and career. Afterward, he found his calling working with welded and bent metals and designing abstract sculptures often featuring figures and animals. He passed away in 1999.

A wonderful, highly engaging large original abstract pastel painting / drawing of three nude female figures by Swiss / American / Californian painter-artist Hans Burkhardt.
This work is hand pencil signed and dated (1967) by the artist.
An original, one-of-a-kind relatively large work by Burkhardt. Would be a great addition to any collection of his work or a stunning stand-alone art accent piece in about any setting. His original female/ women nude works are becoming rare and harder to find.
Hans Burkhardt was born in 1904 in Basel, Switzerland. At the age of 20, he immigrated to New York to work with his father. From 1925 to 1928 he attended the Cooper Union School of the Arts, where he befriended mentor Arshile Gorky and Willem de Kooning—sharing Gorky's studio from 1928 to 1937. In 1937 he moved to Los Angeles, California.
Burkhardt held his first solo exhibition in 1939 at Stendahl Gallery in Los Angeles. In 1945 he had a highly acclaimed solo exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum. Burkhardt spent most of the 1950s working in Mexico. Art critics of the time considered him a "great Mexican master” alongside Orozco, Rivera, and Siqueiros, and Rufino Tamayo admired his work. He returned to Los Angeles in the 1960s to create some of the most powerful examples of Abstract Expressionism of the time. During this time he also became well known for his richly drawn pastel abstractions of the human figure of which this original work certainly qualifies.
He died in Los Angeles in 1994.
