This very nice drawing is a view of a romantic garden. In the background, we see a high base topped by a statue of a 19th century figure along with other architectural ruins. Central to the composition is a leafy tree with a leaning trunk. The beautiful flowering iris plant in the foreground gave the drawing its title.
