Bagno Artiglio at Viareggio Italian Beaches 18x 32" oil Florence Academy $13500
By Nelson H. White
Located in Houston, TX
Bagno Artiglio at Viareggio Italian Beaches 18x 32" oil Florence Academy What are you dreaming of for your summer? A well-kept, clean, spacious beach, free from the usual crowds, where lounging on a lounge chair is truly effortless and natural. A seafront terrace for enjoying a delicious breakfast, a tasty salad, or simply reading a newspaper and chatting. Enjoy the sun while your children play and have fun in our mini club or in our dedicated play area. A peaceful environment where you can relax and unwind, enjoy a shower overlooking the sea, or connect to our free Wi-Fi with your smartphone or tablet The Italian Beaches are a common theme in Nelson White paintings as seen in this 16" x 32" oil painting by Nelson White. The title for this Italian Beach is Bagno Artiglio-Viareggio, Italy . His paintings show his love for the outdoors and nature especially those locations in Italy. The artist has a unique style that he developed in studying under the masters in Italy. The use of the palette knife is seen in many of his Italian landscape paintings. White's paintings are individualistic. White 's paintings have been shown in numerous galleries across the globe since the 1950s, from the United States ,Italy and Russia. White's first museum retrospective was in the New Britain Museum of American Art in July 2012. Nelson H. White was born in New London, Connecticut in 1932. White has been surrounded by art and artists from the time he was born. He received his earliest art instruction from his grandfather, Henry Cooke White (1861-1952) and his father Nelson Cooke White (1900-1989), both important American artists. The family lived in Waterford, Connecticut and the elder White had been an early member of the art colony in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Known for his paintings of the Connecticut landscape and shoreline, Henry Cooke White became a teacher to his son, Nelson Cooke White. Living with his parents at the Florence Griswold house in Old Lyme, he met some of the most important and influential artists of the day, Childe Hassam, Will Howe Foote...

Sunset, San Antonio, 20x16, oil on panel Texas
By Garrett Middaugh
Located in Houston, TX
Sunset, San Antonio, 20x16, oil on panel Texas This painting by Garrett Middaugh shows the beauty of a Texas Sunset outside of San Antonio. A group of low hills are in the background which surround San Antonio. San Antonio is a major city in south-central Texas with a rich colonial heritage. The Alamo, an 18th-century Spanish mission preserved as a museum, marks an infamous 1836 battle for Texan independence from Mexico. Following the San Antonio River, the miles-long River Walk is a landmark pedestrian promenade lined with cafes and shops. HemisFair Park’s 750-ft. Tower of the Americas overlooks the city. The artist is a regional landscape painter working in oils and pastels whose subject matter varies from the mountains and desert of west Texas to the wetlands along the Texas coast, with a strong focus on Texas forests and trees. and to the Rocky Mountains The artist is in corporate and private collections around the world. Garrett Middaugh is a regional landscape painter working in oils and pastels whose subject matter varies from the mountains and desert of west Texas to the wetlands along the Texas coast, with a strong focus on Texas forests and trees. His palette is muted, stark, embracing the neutral colors of everyday experience. Avoiding the romantic, his landscapes are often painted at high noon or in the dead of winter. He paints in a fluid hyper realist style and feels most influenced by other landscape artists such as Neil Welliver and Rackstraw Downes. He sees landscape painting as a form of meditation, projecting outward, while solving equations and mapping the scene, realizing accuracy of objects and relationships, of light, color, textures, distances. "Landscape painting is for me a means of projecting outward, of meditating, examining the here and now of place. The process often feels similar to the satisfaction of solving math equations, intuitively realizing accuracy of objects and relationships, of light, color, textures, distances. For the most part I paint Texas. For several years I devoted a significant amount of time to painting its forests -- the complexity of forest alleviated my sense and the nearness and density of growth was comforting. I have also ventured into west Texas and Big Bend, and occasionally have attempted to capture the mesmerizing serenity of central Texas farm and ranchland." Garrett Middaugh Also shown is a new Texas tractor painting...

Eastern Glades Series 4 Acrylic on Canvas Contemporary Abstract 36" x 36"
By Eleanor McCarthy
Located in Houston, TX
Eastern Glades Series 4 Acrylic on Canvas Contemporary Abstract 36" x 36" Inspiration for Eastern Glades 4 is from the Memorial Park Conservancy in Houston, Texas As the first significant project of Memorial Park Conservancy's 10-year plan, Clay Family Eastern Glades is another beautiful location for Houstonians to enjoy nature at its finest. Inspired by the original 1930s master plan by landscape architects Hare & Hare, Memorial Park's Eastern Glades section adds nearly 100 acres of open space for recreation, relaxation or quiet reflection. Eleanor McCarthy uses acrylic paints on canvas to create the soothing colors in her new contemporary paintings that were just painted in 2024. Every client sees a different image in her new series of paintings being produced in 2024. The Clay Family Eastern Glades is named after the family of third- and fourth-generation Houstonians Emily and Robert Clay, who donated $10 million toward the park's capital campaign in 2018. If you've never visited or it's been a while, keep reading to learn more about this 100-acre open space located in one of Houston's best green spaces—complete with natural habitats and Hines Lake. The Eastern Glades Series is gallery wrapped so there is no need for a frame. Eleanor McCarthy is inspired by the scenery of Texas, Southwestern Colorado, and Europe. Eleanor has recently begun to pursue non-representational painting and has enjoyed exploring the process of abstraction in creating new works of art. She has added acrylic painting and mixed media application to her artworks. Eleanor graduated from Tulane University with a BA in Sociology and from Southern Methodist University School of Law with a JD. Eleanor began to pursue painting after her children went to college.
