Georgian Era Silver Brooch Pearl Diamond 9k Gold Antique Jewelry
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
A delicate silver brooch from the Georgian era, featuring a pearl, antique cut diamonds and a 9k gold pin. Designed as a flower, the brooch has two old mine cut diamond “buds” and a pearl blooming “floret.” The leaves are encrusted with the old mine and Old European cut diamonds. The brooch carries beautiful, nature inspired flowing lines. The contrasting dark silver background makes the pearl and diamonds pop. This pearl brooch has a distinct Georgian era’s feel that will instantly transform your outfit to a sophisticated one. This antique brooch is made of silver with the pin made of 9 karat yellow gold. It features a teardrop shaped creamy white pearl (9.8 x 7.6 x 7.7 mm), old mine, Old European and single cut diamonds (J-L color, VS clarity, approximately 2.30 carats total weight including two diamonds of 0.80-carat each). The Georgian brooch measures 2 ¼” x 1 1/8” (5.8 x 2.9 cm) and weighs 8.1 grams. About Georgian Jewelry: The Georgian period, named after the reigns of the four King Georges of England (1714-1830), is a dynamic and evolving era for jewelry design. Early Georgian jewelry often reflected the Baroque and Rococo styles, with elaborate designs and intricate details. As the period progressed, the influence of Neoclassicism became more pronounced, with motifs inspired by ancient Greece and Rome becoming popular. Jewelry from this time was typically handcrafted, as mass production techniques had not yet been developed. This means that each piece from the Georgian era is unique, with variations that reflect the individual taste of the jeweler. Georgian jewelers employed a variety of materials. Diamonds were often set in silver, as it was believed to enhance their sparkle, while colored gemstones were typically set in gold. The use of paste, a type of leaded glass, was also common for simulating the appearance of precious stones. Designs were rich and varied, as cultural influences of the time came from symbolism and nature. For example, anchors representing hope or snakes symbolizing eternity. Cameos and intaglios, with carved gemstones or shells, were highly prized. Girandole earrings featuring a central element with three dangling components came from the Georgian era. Jewelry in that time was often designed for specific occasions. For instance, mourning jewelry was crafted to commemorate loved ones, featuring somber designs and materials like jet or black enamel. Such gifts as sentimental jewelry, with lover’s eye miniatures or lockets containing hair, were widely popular. We love Georgian jewelry due to its rarity and the craftsmanship it represents. Its designs provide a glimpse into the fashion and culture of 18th and early 19th-century Europe. About Pearl Jewelry: Pearls have a special place in jewelry design. These organic gems have always been associated with a classy, refined style. Today wearing pearls means having a great taste and the ability to see its beauty. Saltwater pearl jewelry...

This feature makes cluster rings eye-catching and serves as a symbol of energy, and the joyous moments they may represent. The meaning of this ring design varies and depends on the context. The vintage ring is size 6.25; can be re-sized. The ring top is 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) in diameter. Weight 16.7 grams. The Retro ring is stamped with Horovitz Alexandrie maker's marks. About Horovitz Jewelry: The history of Horovitz jewelry is rooted in the beginning of the 20th century in Alexandria. At that time, one of the leading jewelry dealers in Egypt was Wolf Horovitz (1883-1959). Originally Romanian, Horovitz based his business Bijouterie Horovitz in Alexandria. His élite jewelry clientele included the Royal courts of King Fouad I and King Farouk I. Horovitz earned his reputation as a prominent jeweler by dealing with the most important houses in Paris. His son, Theodore Horovitz, started his career as a jewelry maker at the age of 17. He was working in his father’s shop. Eventually Theodore opened his own atelier and ended up creating jewels for Alexandria’s nobility and making a crown for the Queen. After the overthrow of King Farouk in 1952, Horovitz moved to Geneva. There he became one of the finest jewelers in the city: the colleagues called him “a legendary godfather to Geneva’s gem-dealing community”. Today Horovitz jewelry is a rare find and the House pieces are sought-after by the jewelry experts. About Turquoise Jewelry: Turquoise, with its vibrant blue-green hues, has been a cherished gemstone for centuries. In vintage jewelry design, turquoise holds a special place. The name “turquoise” came from the French pierre tourques and translates as a “Turkish stone.” The mineral was first transported to the west through Turkey from mines in the historical Khorasan province of Iran (Persia) and Afghanistan. Pre-Columbian Native Americans mined the stone throughout nowadays. In all these cultures turquoise was considered as a protective stone for warriors and symbolized the connection to heaven. In the 17th century wearing turquoise jewelry was a must for a well-dressed gentleman. The stone was popular to the point when all the emeralds in the crown that Napoleon I gave Empress Marie Louise were replaced with Persian turquoise cabochons. Today Persian turquoise is beloved by jewelry aficionados for its warm, calming color. It may vary from sky-blue to green. As to the dark veins, it depends on your preferences and a certain piece. Some jewelry collectors prefer turquoise with a web pattern of matrix as it adds character to a piece. The versatility of turquoise allows it to be used into various designs. Smooth cabochon cut turquoise is a common choice for vintage jewelry. Beadwork is also a popular technique that showcases turquoise's unique color. Turquoise is often associated with the American Southwest, where Native American artisans have been using the stone for centuries. Vintage turquoise jewelry...

Most antique rings were created by skilled artisans who meticulously handcrafted each piece. This level of craftsmanship allowed for intricate designs that were often time-consuming to produce. This includes filigree work, hand-chasing, granulation (tiny metal bead-work), and hand-piercing to create delicate openwork patterns. The emphasis on hand-made production is a hallmark of the era’s jewels. Antique rings were typically made from both gold and silver. The jewelers noticed that diamonds look whiter when set in white metal and not in yellow. The white gold was not invented back then yet and platinum was too hard for jewelry tools...

Diamond Stud Earrings 14k White Gold Estate Jewelry
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
A pair of diamond stud earrings made of 14k white gold. Diamonds are radiant cut in four-prong settings. It’s a classic and popular choice for earrings. The size and quality of the gemstones is what makes these earrings stand out. Radiant cut diamonds combine the elegance of the emerald cut with the sparkle of the round brilliant cut. They are square or rectangular in shape with trimmed corners. This cut looks stunning in solitaire settings and earrings. The four-prong setting, also known as a "solitaire setting," is one of the most common ways to secure a diamond. Each stone is set in an individual four-pronged basket, allowing maximum visibility from all sides. The prongs are like tiny claws holding the diamond at its girdle, which is the widest part of the stone. This setting provides a secure hold while allowing ample light to enter and exit the stone, enhancing its brilliance and sparkle. The diamond studs are made of 14 karat white gold and feature two radiant cut diamonds. One diamond is 5.12-carat, L color, VS2 clarity. The other diamond is 5.02-carat, L color, VS1 clarity. Both diamonds come with GIA Diamond Grading Reports (please see pictures 3 and 4). The Diamond stud earrings measure 5/8" x 3/8" (1.7 x 1 cm) and weigh 4.2 grams. About Estate Jewelry...

About Vintage French Jewelry: Vintage French jewelry is highly valued by jewelry experts and enthusiasts. Since the late Renaissance, France has been established itself as one of the world trendsetters in art and fashion. A quick look at the top 5 French jewelry designers — Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Hermes, Chaumet, Chanel — describes French level of greatness even better. What allowed France to reach such a high level in the jewelry world hierarchy? In a nutshell, it’s because of the apprenticeship system. In the beginning of 1950s in France anyone at the age 14 could start learning the craft. This way French jewelers, like no others in the world, gain a substantial portion of experience at the early age. Even non-designer jewels were produced by the highly skilled masters. Most modern jewelry is not handcrafted anymore, and mass market-oriented production is prevailing. Jewelry designs are streamlined to use as little hand labor as possible. That’s why today vintage French jewelry is in such high demand. About Vintage Jewelry: Vintage jewelry is something we can talk about for days. Since the subject is that big and has multiple aspects to discuss, we’d like to focus on the most important parts of it. So, what is vintage...

Ippolita pieces are made for everyday wearing, however they are meticulously made. Here is where Italian heritage plays its part. Amazing hammered metal textures and curvy organic shapes are crafted by using modern technologies and traditions of old craftsmanship. About Italian jewelry: Italian Jewelry History Italian jewelry style is deeply rooted in the history of the region. The beginning of it can be marked as far as 700 BC. What we consider today as the Italian style was impacted by the ancient Greek, Roman and Etruscan cultures. Italian jewelry of all time is mostly made of yellow gold. This metal has been favored the most by the Italian makers. In the Etruscan region goldsmiths developed such processes as alloying and engraving, also the granulation method got perfected and became a signature. In the later Middle Ages, the most sought-after jewelry pieces came from Vicenza and Florence. During the Renaissance era, the art of jewelry making was as important as painting and architecture. Later, in the Baroque era, jewelry design shifted from bold and straightforward pieces to intricate and more detailed. Today Italian jewelry style and look depends on a certain maker. However, “made in Italy” jewelry always relates to luxurious lifestyle, timeless design, and exquisite manufacturing. Italian Chains In Italy chain production started somewhere back to the ancient times, as braided chains were found in Ur and Uppsala at the archaeological sites. They were crafted by using knitting technique and were precursors of the modern link chains. Thanks to Italian makers, we have Figaro, Anchor and Spiga links today. Those links could be a result of reinvented and reimagined Catholic rosaries...

Being a child of two artists, Paloma Picasso fully expressed her creativity in jewelry making. Paloma Picasso’s talent was thriving in 1980s. She was just right on time with her direction and artistic energy. She came fresh from Paris to New York and started to work for Tiffany & Co. She immediately grasped the aesthetics of the New York street art. She used it as a visionary filter for her “Graffiti” collection in 1983. She also named museum visits and music concerts among her other inspiring things. Paloma Picasso jewelry...

The gold perfectly imitates fabric folds. These Angela Cummings cufflinks are high-polished gold which makes them look great either with your black tie attire or as a dressy option for a business suite. About Angela Cummings brand Angela Cummings is one of the most prominent fine jewelry designers and women jewelry designers. Many of her famous designs were inspired by nature and by three-dimensional art of sculpture. Even though she grew up in the USA, Angela Cummings received her art and jewelry education in Europe. She studied painting in Italy and gemology and goldsmith in Germany. When she came back to the United States late in 1960s, she was right away hired by Tiffany & Co. and became Tiffany’s in-house designer. In 1974, she was the first woman who had a named collection, “Angela Cummings Exclusively for Tiffany & Co.” Soon after that Tiffany created named collections by Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso. In the 1970s and 1980s, Angela Cummings created her distinctive inlaid designs with semiprecious stones such as coral, jade, lapis lazuli, jasper and organic mother of pearl that she became famous for. Nowadays, these designs are highly sought after and very collectable. What made Angela Cummings’s designs recognizable are the sensuous gracefulness, deep inspiration by nature and natural forms and biomorphic use of precious metals. Angela Cummings retired in 2003. She moved to Utah to enjoy spending more time with her family. Angela Cummings jewelry features gemstone jewelry, diamond jewelry and precious metal jewelry including platinum jewelry and gold jewelry. Boucheron Bracelet 18k White Gold Diamond Estate Jewelry
By Boucheron
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
An exquisite Boucheron bracelet made of 18 karat white gold and diamond. This spectacular bracelet has a unique, outstanding design. It comprises of ten flexible gold and diamond strings running towards each other. The strings meet in the middle, creating a layered loop crafted as a stylized drop. This white gold and diamond bracelet is a fascinating piece, airy and substantially sparkly at the same time. The central element creates an amazing effect of the diamonds floating above the wrist. The bracelet is made of 18 karat white gold and features 273 round brilliant cut diamonds, with the total weight of 31.09 carats. The diamonds are of F-G color, VVS2-VS1 clarity. This Boucheron bracelet measures 6 ¾” x 1 ½” (17.5 x 3.8 cm) and weighs 90.3 grams. The bracelet is stamped with the Boucheron maker's marks, hallmarks for 18k gold, serial number. About Estate Jewelry: Buying jewelry online might be challenging. The quality of the making has not gotten better over the time while the design is getting more and more generic. Add ever rising prices and you could end up with not finding anything suitable. To purchase a high-quality jewelry piece for an obtainable price consider buying estate items. • Quality vs Quantity Estate pieces mostly belong to the times when jewels were handmade and not mass produced. There were simply less jewelry makers at that time and they cared about their reputation. Opposed to the current fast fashion approach, life pace was in general slower. That allowed makers to take more time to craft truly quality pieces. • Fair-Priced vs Overpriced Designer pieces aka signed pieces can cost multiple times more than their unsigned equivalents. We pay not only for an item itself but also for the brand advertising campaigns and all the buzz the name is creating. Prices for estate jewelry form differently and mostly depend on the cost paid by a seller. A pre-owned Bulgari ring and a brand-new Bulgari ring have a very appealing price difference. Ask your local jewelry store about a retail price of the desired piece and you’d be pleasantly surprised. • True value vs Seasonal rush Pre-owned jewelry retains its value. Over the time it gets rare and more expensive. Think purchasing a new car that loses its value right after you left your dealer versus buying a vintage vehicle. At Nadine Krakov Collection...

Cartier by Cipullo Love Bracelet
By Aldo Cipullo for Cartier
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
Being a symbol of commitment, a Love bracelet was designed as a minimalistic piece in 1969 and was bound to become iconic. The Cartier Love bracelet is supposed to be put on by someone who mutually loves you. Two screws on both sides hold the bracelet together to represent locked in feelings.  The gold Love bracelet looks very neat. It has a perfect width, it's shiny yet classic and elegant. It's a perfect Cartier bracelet that suits anyone's taste.  This particular Love bracelet is signed by Love bracelet designer Aldo Cipullo. It's from 1970s and that's why it has both signatures, the Cartier and Cipullo. This Love bracelet is size 19 (will fit up to 7" wrist). Comes with a screwdriver. About Aldo Cipullo Aldo Cipullo is mostly known as a creator of the famous Cartier Love bracelet. However, he designed several iconic pieces, and his talent was appreciated by David Webb and Tiffany & Co. His father was a costume jewelry maker, and Aldo worked as an apprentice at one of his workshops. But Cipullo’s ambition went further than Italy where he was born. After he turned 23, he moved to New York to study at The School of Visual Arts. In 1969 Aldo Cipullo started to work for Cartier, and his glorious journey began. Very soon after Cipullo came up with the idea of Cartier Love bracelet. The new design made a big splash in the jewelry world. It was a completely new perspective of the classic look. There is a story behind creating Love bracelet. It says Cipullo was heartbroken at that time after a failed love affair. He wanted to lock in his memories as it was all he had left. Being fascinated by industrial features of New York City and all things hardware, he drew his first draft of the bracelet. Another emblematic piece by Cipullo called Juste en Clou (Just a Nail) came up in 1971. The minimalist, wrapped around nail-looking gold bracelet was a great success. Today the yellow gold, rose gold and white gold Cartier Nail...
