A rare Collectors piece and example of the Designer Legend's iconic signature looks: Phenomenal tailoring, extraordinairy shapes and a beautiful feminine sculptural silhouette. Asymmetrical pointy high collar, fin-like shaped details on the sleeves and a silver metal detail at the waist. Deep sexy V-Neck and closes with one press button at the waist. LES ATLANTES "The Thierry Mugler Spring/Summer 1989 show, entitled 'Les Atlantes,' took place at Paris Fashion Week. Inspired by the deep seas, a group of models in jumpsuits with fish gills on the hips emerged as futuristic sea creatures. Jacket necklines were cut in the shape of waves, fins were attached to sleeves, and peplum waists were made from transparent plastic. A swimwear section rendered in silver, shades of blue, and water print, was complete with fish gill detailing and fin-shaped bracelets. Sleeves of dresses came attached to the bodice, whilst pulling down hems revealed jagged pockets reminiscent of shark teeth...

This is the most gorgeous dress! It is made of such a beautiful delicate silk fabric and lovely strong saturated colours, the shape is typical 1970s. The construction is so well done and there are so many beautiful handmade details. The upper silk is super soft and pleated, it falls in ruffles. The black undersirt has a strengthened hem to create and maintain the shape. The collar falls in ruffles and the front part closes with little hooks. The buttons are covered with the silk fabric. It has two labels inside, one says Walter Gross Zürich (now called GROSS COUTURE, a distrubutor of Haute Couture fashion) and the other one says Paul-Louis Orrier, the designer. This is such a rare one of a kind Couture dress. It comes with a matching belt. The belt had a velcro fastening, I am very sure this was added afterwards, also it didn't work so I removed it. The belt no only closes if you tie it, I would recommend to maybe add press button for your desired fit. Paul-Louis Orrier is an amazing 20th century French designer whose work can be found in the Mint Museum, NC and in the Texas Fashion...
