This fabulous cocktail ring, was created in Paris France during the postwar period back in the 1950. The voluptuous ring is very rare, designed by Pierre Sterlé back in the 1955 and masterfully crafted with intricate elements and detailed wires made up in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with platinum accents for the setting of the diamonds. The ring is embellished with a great assortment of sixty-seven natural earth mined white colorless diamonds and Colombian emeralds. Have a French look with chic and elegant style and is very wearable. This is a great addition to your jewelry collection.
Emerald: Mount in the center in a crown-setting, with 1 oval cabochon cut (23.4 x 17 x 13.7 mm) of a natural Colombian green emerald with a weight of 40.73 carats.
Emeralds: Mount around in four-prongs settings, with 10 round faceted cut of natural green emeralds, 0.90 carats.
Diamonds: Mounted around and the sides, in four-prongs and pave settings, with 56 European round brilliant cut diamonds, with a weight of about 1.86 carats, white colorless F/G color, VS clarity.
Birthstone: Emeralds for the month of May.
Weight: 23.60 Grams, (15.13 Dwt.).
Size: 7.5 and may be easily sized on request.
Measurements: 27 mm by 25 mm (1.02 x 1.02 Inches) and raise 18 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks; the head of the eagle and the dog for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and platinum respectively, the maker's mark Ste S. inside a lozenge cartouche associated to Pierre Sterle, the four-digits serial numbers and signed as follow, "STERLE PARIS 2182".
Pierre Sterlé
He was a French jeweler, born in 1905 and was the son of a family of bankers. After the death of his father during the first world war, he was sent to live with an uncle, a jeweler in Paris, who introduced him to the profession. In 1934, he started his own establishment. He enjoyed the support of many large jewelry houses, such as Boucheron, Chaumet and Ostertag, for whom he was already designing jewelry. In 1939, he premiered a range of jewelry specifically for individuals. The writer Colette, fascinated by his work, was one of his first clients. In 1943 he moved to larger premises at 43 avenue de L'Opera, close to place Vendome. Approaching the world of high fashion, he began a collaboration with designer Jacques Fath. During his life, he was known as the “couturier of jewelry” to socialites. Considered during his lifetime to have been an inspired innovator, he reached his apogee in the 40’s and 50's. his work, with precious stones and metal was inspired by nature.

This is a gorgeous antique medallion-locket created in Italy in the 19th century, circa 1870. The locket has been made up in an oval shape in the Etruscan revival style and carefully crafted in 18kt gilded brass with high polished finish. The medallion locket is decorated with the inlaid portrait of an ancient Etruscan queen, which is dressed with colorful robes, crowned with a diadem and wearing earrings accented with two rose cut diamonds. The profile of the queen is fully decorated with the difficult polychrome enamel technique, called Peinture sur émail. It is fitted with a three-barrels hinge with a snap lock to open and close and a ring bale to wear in a chain. The craftsmanship of this one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry, is exceptional and well done, and surely this will be a great conversation piece.

Peinture sur émail technique
Peinture sur émail is a French type of painting with enamels. It was developed at the end of the 15th century in Limoges, France. In this technique, a slightly convex, metal plate is covered with a fondant of uniform color which was fired to produce a vitreous base for the drawing. On this, the artist starts applying color after color in thin layers onto the base color with a paintbrush. It is vital that one starts with the colors of the highest flowing temperature to avoid the diffusing of colors at a later stage. Between every step, the intermediate depiction needed to be fired in the oven to fixate the colors, sometimes up to 20 rounds of heating are needed for the final result. In this manner, one was able to rival the oil painters of the day and artists such as Leonard Limousin were in high regard, often even employed by the patrons of the arts. Needless to say, that this type of enameling was no longer in the realm of goldsmiths but belonged to those with exceptional drawing skills. At the end of the 16th century the abundance of workshops that produced these artifacts – these could be a meter high – created a decline in craftsmanship which is usually associated with popular cultures. Like Castellani rescued the micro mosaics from general decline by giving it a new impulse so did Jean Toutin from Blois, France give a new incentive to painted enamel in the early 17th century by introducing miniature paintings on enamel of high quality. In Geneva, Switzerland, there was a culture of painting enamels from the late 15th century as well, but the industry only really started to flourish mid-17th century. They specialized in portraits as in scenery images which soon attracted the attention of customers from all over Europe and beyond. The kinetic Op-Art necklace was masterfully crafted in rich yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The design consists of five (5) independent round wires pendants, separate and graduated making concentric circles motifs in three dimensions. These circles are fitted with concealed hinges locks, which can be removed to convert the necklace with different patterns. The visual artistic aspect is achieved since the hanging circles slightly oscillate with the movement of the wearer, creating in turn the three-dimensional optical effect. This sculptural necklace was produced in a limited series of only nine pieces, making each piece to be unique.

Following his 1949 move to Switzerland, he studied at Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule and the Zurich University. He moved to Paris in 1951. Agam is considered one of the founders of kinetic art. Kinetic artwork typically contains moving elements and rely on motion provided by natural forces, motors, or human intervention to achieve their visual effects. In a twist on the classic model of kinetic art, Agam's sculpture Peaceful Communication with the World is painted in such a way that children's growth will change how the work appears to them as they get taller. In a more traditional vein, his Fire and Water Fountain uses mechanically driven parts to help achieve the visual effects. Agam works almost entirely in sculpture, with many of the sculptures on a massive scale. One of his more famous pieces called Hanukkah Menorah is in New York City, stands 32 feet high, and can function as a menorah. His sculptures appear in numerous cities around the world, including Jerusalem, Paris, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, and the Bahamas. He has held exhibitions and retrospectives at both museums and galleries. His work has been shown in retrospectives at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Musee National d'art Moderne in Paris, and the Tel Aviv Museum. His solo exhibitions have appeared at Marlborough-Gerson Gallery in New York, the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico, and the Jewish Museum in New York. In addition to artistic work, Agam routinely involves himself in art education, with lectures delivered at universities and conventions. In 1968, he served as a guest lecturer at Harvard University, where he taught a course on visual communication. Some of his educational ideas for enhancing the cognitive and creative skills of children have been implemented in Israel. The artist currently lives and works in Paris and Tel Aviv.

This is a gorgeous piece of wearable art, created in Paris France by the French Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, back in the 1970. The kinetic Op-Art necklace was masterfully crafted in rich yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The design consists of large round wires pendant of nine (9) separate and graduated pieces making concentric circles motifs in three dimensions. These circles are fitted with concealed hinged locks, which can be removed to convert the necklace with different patterns. The visual artistic aspect is achieved since the hanging circles oscillate slightly with the movement of the user, creating in turn the three-dimensional optical effect. This sculptural necklace was produced in a limited series of only nine pieces, making each piece to be unique.
