This is an exceptional brooch, created by the iconic jewelry house of Cartier, back in the 1970. This brooch was carefully sculpted in three dimensions in the shape of a mythical dragon. Has been crafted with spiky patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with highly textured finish. It is embellished with four natural earth mined gemstones, such rubies and emeralds. It is fitted at the reverse, with a hinged pin bar and a mechanical lock to wear as a brooch. This is a great statement piece of jewelry and we are sure will stimulate great conversations. This mythical animal can be exhibited as a sculpture, since stand alone in their claws.
The Dragon & His Year
This mythical animal symbolizes power, good fortune, and strength and is associated with auspicious traits like intelligence, ambition and charisma. Historically linked with imperial power, Chinese emperors considered themselves descendants of dragons, emphasizing the dragon's esteemed position. The Year of the Dragon holds immense significance in the Chinese zodiac, repeating every 12 years. And this year’s Chinese Lunar New Year, occurring Feb. 10, follows the Year of the Rabbit, with Dragon. In contrast to the other eleven animal signs (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig) in the Chinese zodiac, Dragon is the only legendary creature. Historically linked with imperial power, Chinese emperors considered themselves descendants of dragons, emphasizing the dragon’s esteemed position. European legends portray dragons as demonic, malevolent beings guarding treasures to be conquered by heroic kings. The persistent malevolent connotations of the dragon in Western cultures can be directly attributed to the influence of early Christianity, where the dragon and its serpentine relations were often regarded as stand-ins for the devil. In contrast to the Western connotations of the dragon, the dragon in Chinese culture symbolizes good luck, strength, health and the male element Yang. Fabulous antique piece created in England during the art deco period, back in the 1925. Crafted by the jewelry company of J. Grayson & Sons Limited which was located in the city of Warwickshire or commonly know as Leamington Spa. This double sided arrow jabot-brooch scream art deco with its European old cut diamonds, the millegrain etchings finish and the elegant arrow design. This piece was carefully crafted with impeccable attention to details in solid .900/.999 platinum and 18 karats gold and is fitted with a straight bar and a lock to be twisted for safety. It is embellished with an outstanding selection of twenty European diamonds, one special carving of rock quartz and twenty-nine French carvings of black onyxes. The settings are finished with the difficult setting technique of millegrain. The diamonds add an incredible amount of brilliance to the piece with their excellent quality. The brooch remain in excellent physical condition with absolutely no replacement of any diamonds.
Diamonds: Mounted in millegrain settings, with 20 European rose cut diamond of 0.82 carat, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity.

Mardi Jo Cohen was born in 1959. Her works can be found in the Yale University Collection, the National Museum of American Jewish History and the Museum of Art and Design in New York, as well as other prominent museums and galleries coast to coast. Often seen in the form of serving utensils and jewelry is rarely seen let alone available to acquire.
The Memphis style
Was emerged in 1981, when the Italian designer and architect Ettore Sottsass founded a group of artists and designers called Memphis. Bob Dylan’s song 'Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again' was playing on repeat during the group’s first meeting, which led to the group being named 'Memphis'. After the inaugural meeting, the group decided that they would meet again in February 1981. The members brought over 100 drawings with them, picturing a variety of bold, colorful designs with multiple stylistic influences. The Memphis Group went on to create furniture, fabrics, patterns, ceramics and other products in a distinctly Postmodern style that blended stylistic traits of 1950s kitsch, Art Deco, and Pop Art. If you love unashamedly brash and bold colors and patterns, you’ll be very happy to hear that the Memphis Style, the design style pioneered by the 1980s Memphis Group, is very much back in vogue.

France 1810 Georgian Period Rare Oversized Baroque Brooch .830 Silver Quartz

Fantastic Oversized antique French brooch.
A very nice early French piece, created during the Georgian period, around the 1810's. Carefully crafted in solid .830/1000 sterling silver and suited at the reverse, with a hinged horizontal pin with a hook lock.
Is embellished, with a mix of larger quartz gems cuts and small simulated gemstones in paste.
Excellent workmanship with black dots and prong set on top of the silver with open backs.
Paste, is a gem like material made from a secret formula of leaded glass invented by George Ravenscroft, a 17th century London glassmaker and later perfected by George Strass, an 18th century French jeweler, designed to resemble precious gemstones.
This piece is pretty heavy and large with a total weight of 87.4 grams and a measures of 90 mm by 83 mm (3.52 by 3.28 inches).
Stamped, with multiples French hallmarks; three times with the maker's maitre cartouche and three times with the boar head, for the assay and guaranty of the .830 silver.
Note: This piece have remains of the original gilding in some parts of the reverse.
