For your meditation , or special garden display comes this handsome 25 inch tall bronze bell. Its original old and natural dark green patination belies its importance and rarity.
Hard to find with its attractive patina- this is an authentic indication that this bell had actually hung for quite some time and had been used functionally.
At the top, the handle (ryûzu) is crafted in the form of two mirrored dragon heads.
Around the upper portion of the bell, the pronounced bosses Fu (chi) are arranged in five rows of five. Lower sections are surrounded by embossed cartouches with a flower-shaped striking panel (tsuki'za).

Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, all frames have been cleaned with soap & water but have some scratches & signs of wear & the straps have some yellowing from sun exposure, lotions, & use. Also, when the chairs are stacked the vinyl straps stretch but when un-stacked the straps return to their original form. Tropitone was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1954 by Burt M. Baker, a retired Lockhead Engineer and executive at Grand Rapids Chair Company. Tropitone served the contract market, including hotels, motels, clubs, and resorts with high performing outdoor patio furniture. In the 1960’s they introduced powder coated aluminum finishes to the industry. Utilizing a multi-step wash process that ensures a lasting finish, Tropitone’s aluminum frames prevail under any environmental conditions. Tropitone also pioneered the technique of double-wrapping vinyl straps around the powder coated aluminum frame for extra durability, which continues today. In 1970’s they established operations in Irvine, California which provided a bi-coastal manufacturing to North American customers.
