Made during the reign of Emperor Hirohito also known as the Showa era (1926-1989). Butterflies embodies change and growth. They are also seen as souls of deceased loved ones. It is a fine, hand cast and unusual iron butterfly lantern in the form of a Japanese Monarch Butterfly. Hang in your favorite indoor or special outdoor space. It sits on its own as well.
As a gorgeous night light it will burst brilliant night light in all directions from all sides and many openings. This is an old vintage, heavy hand-cast, attractive eye catching lantern with a handsome dark patina.
