This piece has been created in Bavaria, Germany back in the 1930. This was designed by the artist Karl Tutter-one of the premiere porcelain modelers of his day!-and made by the Lorenz Hutschenreuther depicting a naked women, with the arms open in direction to the sun, this pose called Sun Child.
The main body is decorated with delicate skin cream color, with accents of black, red and light gilding. all mounted in a ball on a round pedestal base.
This piece have a height measure of 12.75 inches (32.40 Cm) and the base have a diameter of 3 inches (7.6 Cm).

This is a white glazed and black clay raku fired ceramic bust. Though modern, this sculpture references Classical Greek and Roman antiquities. A subtle red glaze is used on the lips and the artist has purposefully and mysteriously left a portion around the neck between the head and the chest free of glaze, exposing the black clay beneath. The cracking on the surface is a result of the raku firing process and intended to be there.

As many of you will know, the Pietà, depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of mother Mary after the crucifixion. Over the years we have seen this famous biblical scene portrayed in all kinds of materials, but this is the first time we have seen it in glazed and partially colored ceramic. The artist whom created this unique sculpture perfectly captured the sadness and despair of Mary and the disciples by her side. The care with which they are touching and holding the body of Christ also shows their love and affection for Jesus.
